O Line is arguably the most important group on the team and Sam was arguably the best OLine coach in the nation?

But I was told he was only an O Line coach not worthy of being hired as a head coach.. surely Georgia was just over compensating and not worried about him leaving. Oh and my good Bulldogs this isn't a dawg
on yall. Just making a point to the others.

Pittman was the heart. Look at what has happened since he left. Kirby is a good coach, but Pittman was a big piece of that team.

Pittman probably had to hold the show together here with Berts drinking. He is responsible good person and experienced. He was our teams heart. We fell apart after he left.

His value as an on the field coach is very high.

I believe that's Kirby and Pittman is the
3rd asst that we've lost in a year and we managed to do fine.

Kirby is a good coach and will keep on trucking as he is at UGA. It's hard to lose there. You cant say that some of the recent losses have not been due to Pittman though.

Strange,strange melt

He was considered the best O-line coach in country and one of the best recruiters (more valuable as a recruiter IMO) WTF does an asst coaches salary have anything to do with his supposed HC coaching abilities?.

Are you telling me Arnada or Venables are both gonna great HC's because of their salaries?

I have no idea if Pittman is gonna be a great HC and neither do you.Lots of factors go into it.

Because Pittman was a fantastic o-line coach. I mean, look how bad Georgia has fallen since he left.

I wouldn't listen to whoever told you that, then. You need to be more careful who you listen to.

He has put together a good staff. I hope he does well at Arkansas.

Because he is the best OL coach out there and lights out in recruiting. They didn't want another school taking him as OL coach, they never thought someone would as a head coach. When he comes back as OL coach in 3 years he will be even better

You didn't answer my question tho. Why pay him so much if you're not that worried about losing him?

Really man? The point was we didn't just hire some plain ole OL coach. Pittman is special.

The D line is just as important as the O line. If you don't win in the trenches, a team doesn't have much of a chance.

Of course I did and once again,WTF is correlation between the salary of an asst coach and their potential
success as a HC?

I would be mad if UF wanted Pittman and didn't put up at least a million. He was absolutely worth it.

Sorry,I really don't get your point. We paid that much because
he was one of the best in the CFB and a great recruiter.

Are you saying we should have matched the Arkansas offer?

Of course he'll be missed but we weathered the storm after losing our OC and DC the year before and I think Matt Luke is a solid replacement.

Time will tell if either or both work out.

Because Pittman is that good.

He was also the associate head coach and best recruiter on UGA’s staff.

The coaching salary bubble is going to burst soon.

Hopefully, the new additional revenue from ABC/ESPN can hold off that bubble bursting some.
