If you are just talking about buildings on campus I would say Arkansas is actually middle of the pack in the SEC. We've got some eyesores from the "modern" style tucked in next to some gorgeous old school looking buildings. It doesn't help that everything is crammed in on top of one hill.

What elevates Arkansas is that the scenery around the campus is amazing and Fayetteville is vibrant middle class college town. There is a reason it routinely lands in the nicest places to live in America lists.

Its been some time since I've been there but I remember South Carolina had a really nice campus and its in a wonderful town.

LSU is sort of the anti-Arkansas as far as campuses. The actual LSU campus is very nice. The area around it... meh... not so much.

I’ve been to every campus except UK. Every campus is pretty amazing.

I’d have to give the nod to Ole Miss. Not the city, just the campus.

Mizzou was the worst but it’s still pretty awesome.

MS State has a landscape architecture school, horticulture and turf grass schools.

Ole Miss uses the plastic pine straw that was developed at USM to decorate around their trees

I was going to say the same about Columbia, SC. Say what you will about the city, the campus is great.

My favorite hotel for road trips. We used to stay right off campus in that hotel that was modeled like an old Antebellum house

The Inn at USC I believe.

USC has a great charming campus

THe answer to this question of ugliest is A&M and UT Knox. Too much concrete and too little charm

That place is fantastic - stayed there before a Pearl Jam show at the basketball arena.

Again, buildings are average, trees and landscaping are the difference.

Do you wander around campus when you visit these places? Almost every school I have seen looks pretty nice with the exception of A&M, but I only catch a small part of the campus. Ole Miss was nice, but I did't see that much of it. Just around the stadium and the circle and grove.

I've been to:
UF, UGA, UofSC, Alabama, Tenn, Auburn, Ole Miss, Vandy

I think Oxford is the best of that group. I like how the Square blends into the neighborhood and eventually into campus. Quintessential college town. It's lack of "chains" also is charming. Others are nice as well, with their charms.

Mizzou and Vandy are top notch. F Mizzou, but that's a nice campus.

Are you talking about their Oxford campus...which is kinda nice.

The Emory Campus in Atlanta is nothing special and the constant construction from the hospitals (CHOA/Emory} combined with CDC traffic make it a nightmare getting around.

71. Columbia, SC MSA (825,033) (7.48% growth)
