Interesting coming from a fan of Florida....a place where coaches go to die.

I don't believe he was discussing only the tight end spot at UGA.

I think I read that he was a co-OC with Coley in the past. It wouldn't be unimaginable that Coley recommended a similar situation to Smart if it was a good relationship.

And it isn't unimaginable that Gran would turn that down as it is a demotion.

Congrats on keeping Gran. I assume that comes with a payraise and extension at kentucky's expense and benefit for Gran. I hope that works out for you and him.

34-17.

ETA: It must suck being a Kentucky fan this year, I mean usually you have basketball to fall back on, but looks like that's out of the picture too.

Besides the refuted KSR source, of course.

Yeah that first 10 win season in 40 years and a Citrus Bowl was just AWFUL.

At least we’ve won 3 NCs in our respective top sport since 1980. Your top choice for almost 40 years now has been 2nd place at best. GTFO.

unless there is something other than what was on here(I am not keeping up with all this) Anonymous sources on a fan site hardly refute anything. Conversely the same[UK version] doesnt mean something is legit

How would he even know how Smart runs things? I'll take Coley over Eddie Gran all day every day.

I never said he sucked. I just said I wouldn't be upset if he left. He has his upsides and downsides.

From KSR.com who "broke" the news that Eddie was offered the OC job and everyone is using as their source:

quote:

Football Scoop, one of the most reliable college football sources in the game, confirmed KSR’s report

Football Scoop:
quote:

"Eddie was contacted about a role on the staff at Georgia. Based on our conversations, it seems “offered” is a bit overstated"

Things that make you go hmmmm.

It doesn't make much sense to offer 1.1 mill and total control to a relatively inexperienced OC with a 101th ranked offense.

Gran was smart to parlay it into a payday.

Besides the refuted KSR source, of course.

So a link from a fan blog doesn't count if its countered by a link from a fan blog.

Thats Georgia for you people.

I’m not a fan of Gran’s playcalling and admittedly need to see more creativity from him. He won’t have much of a choice but to do so next season if Kentucky is going to be successful.

That all said, it is funny that Gran spurned them. So why can’t it be both?
