man, stay somewhere where you will survive and take a cab to the game. or the train. atlanta is not the place to be walking at night alone.

Stay at the Westin. My favorite hotel in Atlanta.

What is the best place to stay in downtown ATL within walking distance to Turner Field? Looking to go to a couple of Bravo's games in 2 weeks and for a place pretty cheap. Thanks.

There is one Holiday Inn w/in walking distance... the rest of walking distance is government housing.

No I am not exaggerating. Stay somewhere off of 75 if you want to get in quick... Marietta has some decent places

Stay in midtown and Marta/shuttle to the game.

ETA:
Also, buy cheap seats for one of the games and sit at a table in the center field bar/concession area. Get there early for that however.

like a few have said, there is a nice holiday inn right by the stadium

I've parked/tailgated there before when Blue Lot was full

I've been inside to use the bathroom...seemed nice enough and its literally right by blue lot

St. Regis or Four Seasons. The Ritz-Carlton in Midtown or Buckhead will do if you're on a budget.

Buckhead, MARTA to Five Points Station, walk through Underground Atlanta, catch bus (MARTA shuttle) to Turner Field. Return bus drops you off directly to Five Points where you can catch the train back to Buckhead. Make sure to geta round-trip MARTA ticket so you don't have to get another ticket on the way back.

Another option is to stay in the Centennial Olympic Park/CNN Center/Georgia Congress Center area and follow the same steps above.

Don't stay in Buckhead, it's a longer Marta ride to 5 Points and the Braves Shuttle. I'd stay downtown near the Peachtree Center or in Midtown.

Buckhead is by far the most overrated part of the city. It's everyone's first instinct if they aren't actually familiar with Atlanta.

There are good restaurants in Buckhead though.

Oh and as you've read, there's nowhere you'd want to stay to walk to the stadium. It's everyone's biggest complaint about the Braves, its not surrounded by much more than a KFC and a dude who plays drums in the I-75 tunnel.

HELL NO!!! Stay as far away from Underground as possible. It is awful and very unsafe. And, no, the Holiday Inn near Turner Field is not nice, nor is it in a nice area. Projects, gunfire etc, like most of Atlanta except for Buckhead (only random gunfire.)

And do not stay in Marietta unless you get lost and run out of gas. Nothing to do or see there.
