I just watched this game on ACCN. Ground causes a fumble at the goal line with 10 seconds left in regulation but the refs gave the ball to Tech and allowed the game to go to overtime.

Game was tied and UGA had the ball at the two yard line with 13 seconds left, ready to run a play but the refs ran in and stopped the play, there was confusion amongst the refs, they whistled the play live and then the UGA running back lost the ball after hitting the ground. Tech wins in OT.

They were probably mad but it was 21 years ago

The real question is how mad are Tech fans about being totally uncompetitive with UGA ever since

One of the big plays that furthered replay.

The other was vs LSU in Athens when they flagged our wr who just scored for a phantom celebration call that perplexed everyone. May that official die of superbird aides

I remember that happening, but I don't remember what year it was. It seems like ages ago. Has replay been around thta long?

The biggest problem with getting old is things that seem like yesterday actually happened a long time ago!

Miles seemed to get some incredibly big breaks and them he also seemed to get some bad breaks. He is still one of my favorite coaches of the SEC, though. Just a likeable guy.

Still not an excuse for allowing a 30+ yd rushing touchdown with less than a minute, when Jordan Jefferson was under center.

Because he coached games to win in the 4th quarter despite the fact that he had the talent to be up by 20 in the fourth quarter. Far too many games game down to the last possession in the Les Miles era.

Not only was Jasper's entire body down which should not be a fumble, but a tech player picked it up then ran backwards into the endzone and was getting tackled when refs blew the whistle. It was about as bad as you could possibly frick up the officiating on the play, any outcome should lead to us either scoring or having possession of the ball yet neither actually happened.

Oh btw, the dumb frick making the call would go on to be the SEC head of officiating later in his career I believe

Donnan arrogantly tried to run it in instead of kicking the field goal from the 2 yard line with hardly anytime on the clock. He could've eliminated any chance of a turnover outside of a block or bad snap had he kicked.

Ironically in overtime O'Leary wisely kicks on 3rd down and after its blocked we recover and kick the game winner on 4th down.

That game and the following years game where Tech beat the shite out of georgia in Athens contributed heavily to him getting fired. Donnan was a dumbass.

27-15? man that 52-7 game we had last year must have REALLY hurt.
And since that time Georgia is 13-3 against Tech.

I vaguely remember that. But ABC showed Arizona/Arizona St. here, so I didn't see it.

It was 27-3 at the half and your team was booed off the field at home. That wasn't really the overall point but whatever.

Current LSU fans have no idea what you’re talking about. There was no reason to be on the bandwagon back then.

After that debacle in Atlanta I don't believe that SEC official, Al Ford, called anymore games, if I remember correctly. Perhaps that was going to be his last season.

I believe it was a year or so before in Athens the GT QB fumbled the ball,as shown by replay, the ACC officials said he did not fumble the ball and that cost Georgia that game.

Since those two games Georgia has worn their arse out. I remember a game in Athens after those two debacles when Georgia ran up 50+ points on them. Chan Gailey was their coach, I believe. What I remember about that game was the fact the crowd cheered as hard for the last TD as they did for the first, the crowd was still in the stadium.

The 98 and 99 losses were completely heartbreaking, but let’s also acknowledge they were vacated due to one of Tech’s many NCAA sanctions over the past 15 years.

They’ve avoided the reputation due to bad teams in football and basketball, but those programs for tech are low key some of the more renegade programs in terms of NCAA compliance.
