Weird, Pitts coach played both UCF and Notre Dame this season and said UCF was better and if he had to, he’d rather play Notre Dame again rather that us. I guess the invitational blue bloods know better lol.
Wow...that is unexpected. You mean that a Notre Dame team that was coming off of 6 straight weeks of games and two straight games against top 25 opponents, wasn't as up to play Pitt as a UCF team that was a week removed from an open weekend and was facing their first P5 team of the season (the only P5 opponent they played this season)?
Color me shocked.

Last season most UCF fans believe we would’ve upset Alabama. Our QB even said this season we should’ve beaten Auburn by 3 TDS in the Peach. We were loaded w NFL talent including a 1st round CB. This season most fans believe we’d beat most P5 teams but probably not Alabama or Clemson. If Milton doesn’t get hurt, we’d easily beat LSU. But we aren’t as good this year.
See I think last season you guys were a legit top 10 team, but would have lost to all 4 teams in the playoff, OSU and maybe Wisconsin. That's my opinion and you have to play the games to know. Beating Auburn doesn't do much for me since they were completely deflated by losing the SECCG

You're probably wrong cause it's going to be the P5 conferences champions, group of 5 champion and 2 at large. What would be funny is when they decide to go to 8, UCF falls off and Boise State will make the Playoffs. That will be melt of the decade.

Ot should just be the top 8 teams according to the committee.
Why should a shitty Pac 12 team get in this year under a hypothetical 8 team playoff?

Because there may be a year where a 3 loss team has 3 good losses, so they should have a shot.
Last season Auburn proved they could beat anyone, and should potentially have had a shot. They beat both teams in the NCG by double digits that season
I'm not saying Washington should get in for sure, but I think there are scenarios where a 3 loss champ should garner consideration

If the committee puts them in the top 8, they deserve a shot

I heard a talk show about this last week. A 8 team playoff could happen by 2020. It would be the 5 conference champions , group of 5 champion and 2 at-large bids. Of course, they got alot to figure out first. They even talked about doing away with conference championship games. That's why Shankey made the comment about keeping our conference title game.

People keep looking at the committee rankings as gospel. The rankings would be WAY different if this was an 8 team playoff. The top 6 would remain unchanged but after that it wouldn't be close to what it is. I mean let's be serious here there is no realistic way that Michigan should be one spot behind OSU, when OSU just took them to the woodshed

Should Ohio State be in the playoffs?
Posted on 12/17/18 at 3:49 pm to Buckeye06
No that’s us this year w Milton. But we’d beat Notre Dame and your team full strength. Wo Milton were top 15.

this is so wrong. Who should be ahead of them?
Posted on 12/17/18 at 3:54 pm to joshua2571
Ehh I dunno. I'm mad they aren't in, but you were either going to leave out a 1 loss B1G champ or a 1 loss Big 12 champ, both of whom were all time top 5 programs and blue bloods
I do think OSU being left out is a big reason why these talks started up real quick. Would likely have been similar if OU/OSU were swapped

I mean i absolutely believe UCF would be ahead of them in this scenario. Washington may pass them as well.
I don't know why people think the rankings after 4 matter; they simply don't

Spoken like a true OSU fan. 5th twice and 6th once.

I think most people anticipate that if they ever went to 8 it would have guaranteed spots for all the major conference champions and probably a guaranteed spot for a group of 5 if they qualify.

Aggie, never in the discussion
Yea maybe it is spoken like a fan of a team who annually is in the playoff or deep in the discussion. But the expectations at OSU are different from most places in the country and that's fine.

And I guess I didn't realize how there are only 2 P5 teams with 2 losses. That seems strange but I guess Michigan would get in after losing their last game by 23. That in some ways would make me more against an 8 team playoff

Of course he would. UCF doesn't fill the seats.
