Looking to use WMS in Little Rock. Would automagically be a member of the Sunbelt. I can't imagine Arkansas is happy about this?

KATV

quote:

According to the University, it has selected the firm Convention Sports & Leisure of Plano, Texas, to organize a study on the feasibility of football and a marching band.

The overall purpose of the study is to further evaluate whether a football program and marching band would be a "fiscal and meaningful addition" to UA Little Rock and the Central Arkansas community.

Doesnt really matter no one suppots UALR or Ark St. We have HS teams in NWA that draw more fans than they ever will.

They shouldn't. I don't think they would have the numbers to support a football team.

They should start a program and Gus Malzahn is the perfect coach to build it!

Eh, I don't think it is going to change much. There are some arguments to be made about helping U of Arkansas.

Little Rock University is a commuter school...I don't think it would hurt the Flagship

Would be hilarious if UALR starts a football team from scratch and is already in the Sun Belt while Liberty has been offering to pay their way into anywhere that will have them but gets continually denied.

UA Little Rock is part of the Arkansas system. This study would not be underway without the system's blessing. Arky is abandoning central Arkansas so there might be some support. Who knows.

I say give it to Nutt AND Gus; get the gang back together again. Hell, bring back Reggie "The Red" Herring , too.

They're already a Fun Belt school in other sports. And with Idaho dropping back down to FCS to join the Big Sky, UALR adding football will get it back to 12 teams after their transition period. I'm not sure if divisions or a championship game are ever going to be in the works, but at least it gets you 12 and easier scheduling for everyone.

If the Fun-Belt wants a presence in central Arkansas, they'd be better off bringing in UCA. UALR is a commuter school. I believe they just got their first dorms in the last decade.

I realize that. It's just amusing to me that Liberty is willing to pay their way in and still nobody wants them.
