The University of Texas was the prize of all expansion. No offense, but LSU is the SEC's poorest school, and isn't in the same hemisphere as UT. I'd dump LSU in a heartbeat if we are choosing.

At this point, conference expansion is about eyes on the TV (NOT new markets necessarily) and creating top matchups for prime time games. Texas and Oklahoma bring a ton of eyes to the TV and create great matchups to further sell tv time slots.

Despite what traditionalists think/hope for, both are great fits.
