Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has won his first three games as a starter, including most recently a 29-21 victory over fellow rookie Justin Herbert and the Chargers. After the game, Tua spoke for a few minutes by phone to PFT.

He said that the process of getting comfortable in the NFL happened not in games but in practice, thanks to the presence of a “good defensive scout team” that forced his development weeks before he got on the field. It’s made games a lot easier for Tua.

“I expected it to be a lot harder,” Tua said of playing in the NFL, “not that it’s not hard.”

He explained he expected to see a lot of different looks from defenses, but that it hasn’t happened yet. Of course, those looks may come, especially as defenses get more film to study regarding the things Tua can do.

This was stupid. He’ll get blasted by some defensive player.

Its pretty common for a talented QB to come in the league and have success early, once defensive coaches have enough film on the QB there is a normal regression for awhile. The real test will be if he can bounce back after that.

Perhaps Tua could have just said those things to his parents/friends.

It’s probably not hard because his defense scores 48% of their points - while he leads a historically bad offense!

28 points vs LAR:
- 7 from a fumble return TD
- 7 from a punt return TD
- 7 from a 1 yard/1 play TD after Rams fumble

34 points vs Arizona:
- 7 from a fumble return TD
- 3 from 56 yard FG (6 play, 20 yard drive)

29 points vs LAC:
- 7 points after blocked punt recovered at 1 yard line
- 3 from 50 yard FG after turnover (5 play, 15 yard drive)
- 3 from 50 yard FG after turnover (7 play, 14 yard drive)

I think it’s about to get just a bit harder.

For him.

there was a time and probably was a Huge jump from high school to college to the NFL, Back in the 80`s most high schools might throw ten passes a game, colleges were three yards in the dust against base 5-2 defenses, now while the NFL Players are a big step lot of the schemes these kids have been running since they were 15.

Yea it’s not that hard when your team only needs you to throw for 150 yards a game.

Naive thing to say, but Tua can be a naive kid sometimes. I guarantee he didn't think twice about it or how people would take it.

He got literally blasted on his very first snap. This quote isn’t cocky or any motivation to any defensive player lol

The word you’re looking for is dumb.

Hey, remember when he made a 13 on the Wonderlic?

He may be a good qb or a bad qb but at least he hasn’t assaulted anyone like Drake, Parrish, and Guice.

That’s what I care about the most.

Yes. He loves those Miami strip clubs. Your wife’s $5 private dances are his favorite.

You just don’t hear about it because he treats them with respect. A foreign concept to LSU apparently

Tua doesn’t need Title IX’s help for a relationship like some do...
