If Jalen is such an offensive juggernaut as yall are projecting him to be since the SECCG, why were yall ready to run him off last year because yall offense wasnt producing?

No one was trying to run him off, quite the opposite. He is 26-2 in games he has started.

At the time, the thinking was that he had simply hit his ceiling.

As it turned out, Kiffin was so busy trying to scheme with what Jalen could do at the time that he never bothered to develop Jalen as a passer. We didn't realize that until Enos got his hands on Jalen. Seriously, the difference between Jalen last year and this year is extraordinary.

All that said, I'm not sure anyone is projecting him as a juggernaut, but defenders won't be as fast to sell out on the pass and dare Jalen to beat them with his arm anymore.

Ummmmmmmm, not really. Go back and watch his playing time throughout the year. Many of his plays were simple bubble screens, rollouts that simplify or eliminate read progressions by restricting him to half the field, or limited routes. He still showed difficulty in recognizing coverages or anticipating the open man. And he was still fairly inaccurate with the ball.

Even Saturday night he still showed the habit of bouncing deep and to his right when he felt pressured. The throws were still either simple (the flare/screen to Jeudy to the left), wide arse open (Waddle on the right side line on a scramble) or simplified reads as a result of leaving the pocket (the TD).

To be fair to Jalen, he did some good things (Irv Smith between the hashes that he would have never thrown last year). The TD throw was an absolute dime right on the money.

But to claim he has magically transformed into the second coming of Johnny Unitas is a little over the top.

Er...um... i was really just saying that chokelahoma can’t stop the run. No need to throw it all over the yard against them

Saban would cart Tua out there and make him play.

I do think Hurts has improved, especially with Enos whispering in his ear, but you are right. He's not a great passer.

But with his skill set he doesn't have to be a great passer to be very effective. He reminds me of Matt Jones at Arkansas back in the day. A good enough passer to keep you honest and God help you if you don't keep contain because he'll be twenty yards downfield and picking up speed in a heartbeat.

Run the ball down Oklahoma's throat and roll Hurts out of the pocket every now and then with the option to take off if the pass isn't there and the Sooners would be in a world of hurt.

Reportedly, Tua's ankle injury isn't as bad as Jalen's was, and Jalen played again in 4 or 5 weeks. It's a pretty good bet that Tua will start the game and play well, but if he's still hampered, Jalen will get his chance.

Jalen has certainly improved and I appreciate what he's done at Alabama, but Tua is obviously a better qb, even hampered by the gimpy knee since the Arkansas game. Bad luck that about when he gets over that he injures his ankle.

Obviously Tua is a far better QB than Jalen, but having to start Jalen against Oklahoma wouldn't be as big of a problem as it would be against any top level SEC team. Oklahoma can't stop anything, so it'd likely just take Alabama 8 plays to score on any given drive with Jalen as opposed to 4 with Tua (maybe I'm exaggerating but you get the point). Those longer drives, and more running plays, wouldn't be such a bad thing because it would keep Kyler Murray off the field. All that said, Alabama would obviously be better off with a healthy Tua because they'd probably score every time.

I’m pretty sure OU has stopped the run pretty well all year actually. There was a couple games with some injuries on the DL that hurt us, but other than that we held Texas to like 80 yards rushing a week ago with a QB who is huge and has ran all over teams all year. If you think y’all can keep up running the ball, prepare to be sad...

Oklahoma's rush defense is 53rd in the S&P. Maybe you think they've been good against the run because they're 89th overall, but they'll certainly get gashed.

Enos turned out to be a huge difference maker on this staff.

For starters, OU has a B12 defense, and couldn't stop it. Look at the Army game for a prime example
