JustGetItRight:

I agree, with fan attendance down, playing an In-state team means you can pay them a little less (given the travel costs are not as much) and you are going to get more fans from those other in-state schools to come to the game since they are in-state. LSU always plays 1 of the other in-state schools, last year LA Tech, this year NW LA and next year UL Monroe I think, maybe ULL.

Next year LSU has Texas coming on campus, which is really neat. LSU has not had a brand name OOC game in Tiger Stadium since the 1990's when Notre Dame came on campus, all the recent ones have been neutral site games. Bring back Home and Home OOC games with top notch teams.

I for one would not criticize Bama's scheduling a in-state Non Power 5 team. In fact, as I said above, it is 1) It is good Economics and 2) good for attendance.

Those are good teams, what I mean by "Brand" is Texas Next year, Notre Dame in the 80's and 90's, Ohio State in the 80's and USC in 79, all games that I saw in person.

The games you listed were all High quality OOC on campus games and in the case of VA Tech in 2007, a team that won the ACC title and Orange bowl.

So I would agree that LSU has done more to bring in Power 5 teams to on campus than the other SEC schools. LSU has also traveled to play Washington in Seattle in 2009 at Tempe vs Arizona State in 2005, West Virginia in 2011 all on campus.

I think the turds are smart not play schools in state and I damn sure don't want any of Troy. They would come out full of piss and vinegar, full hard ons for the big state school.
Nope, its a losing proposition any way you cut it

Actually it was:

Louisiana Tech 26, Alabama 20 in 1997

AND

Louisiana Tech 29, Alabama 28 in 1999.

Alabama is 3-2 vs Tech all-time.

Bama...you need to make your mind up. Are you looking for 'Anybody' to play? Or are you not?

We'll be over here waiting on your call. You haven't taken ours since forever.

Rankings this time of year are based on projections and off-season media beliefs. They are created for people who are fools and like to lose money on gambling (hmmmmm, where have I heard that before?).

Kind of like the stats that some people constantly post?

I’d hate to get embarrassed on national TV like LSU did.

You don't give yourself enough credit. You survived the nation laughing at 44-16. You could take it.

Yeah, I don't think more shitty teams is what he had in mind.

But I can see how a LSU fan might mistake Troy for a decent team.

AU has played UAB, Sanford and Jax St, why hasn’t Bama?

Because it's dumb to prop up teams in your own state.

Already got forced to do it with Auburn who wouldn't be shite otherwise.

LaTech has a higher win% against Alabama than LSU.

Yes. Auburn has a long and storied history of playing the powerhouses of Jax State, Alabama State, Alabama A&M, and Samford. Oh, and that one time they played UAB 33 years in their very first game as D1, and AU's head coach said during post game that they would never play again. (They haven't)

Good on you, Tigers for scheduling every FCS school around the state of Alabama and actually being proud of that stupid shite.
