Tried a best possible attempt at 3 permanent rivals for 3-6 scheduling

Hello all,
Below is my attempt at assigning 3 permanent rivals for each SEC team. We have to realize no matter which way the league office ends up doing it after the SEC AD meeting in Destin in June, some fanbases will inevitably be pissed. However, after reviewing comments from fanbases on Twitter, Reddit, here, and other sites, I created a scheduling method I think makes most fanbases happy without pissing too many off, while at the same time protecting as many historically rivalries as possible.
Behold:
Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi State
Arkansas: LSU, Texas, Texas A&M
Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Florida
Florida: Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn
Georgia: Florida, Auburn, South Carolina
Kentucky: South Carolina, Vandy, Tennessee
LSU: Arkansas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss
Missouri: Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt
Mississippi State: Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Alabama
Oklahoma: Missouri, Mississippi State, Texas
Ole Miss: Mississippi State, Missouri, LSU
South Carolina: Kentucky, Florida, Georgia
Tennessee: Vandy, Alabama, Kentucky
Texas: Texas A&M, Arkansas, Oklahoma
Texas A&M: Texas, LSU, Arkansas
Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri
To explain some scenarios above, let’s talk about rivalry week. Rivalry week HAS to be OU-Mizzou(to have any chance of bringing back Bedlam/Border War rivalry week in the future), Texas-Texas A&M, Golden Boot game, Iron Bowl, TN-Vandy, & Egg Bowl. Because the 4 SEC teams with ACC rivals have no conference rivals, they have to be paired with each other. Specifically, Kentucky & South Carolina would have to be permanent opponents in this scenario since Florida & Georgia have to play every year. It actually all falls apart if you try to do it differently. In any 3-6 model you do, TX-A&M, OU-Mizzou, Vandy-TN, FL-UGA, UK-SC, Bama-Auburn, Arky-LSU, & MSU-Ole Miss have to be paired with one another in any model for it to work. Secondly, I have Texas A&M the permanent opponents of LSU & Arkansas. The Aggie fans I’ve seen have little interest in playing OU yearly instead of LSU, and Arkansas fans want Texas/Texas A&M/LSU over Missouri since that’s less of a rival than any of those 3 schools. The only matchup I did not like was MSU-Oklahoma, but that’s the only matchup I had a problem with. Overall, I thought it came out well after priotizing big rivalries(UGA-Auburn, TN-Bama) and so forth. Meanwhile, LSU-Florida, LSU-Bama, UGA-TN, and TN-FL would still be played every 2 years in this scenario. You of course can swap UF & Auburn to make UF/LSU & Auburn/Ole Miss, as well as some other simple swaps, but the only way the MSU-OU game would be resolved in this scenario is if you made bigger changes with the permanent opponents of A&M, Missouri, & LSU. Overall though, I liked how it came out.

Hell of a first post about a topic that has never been discussed before.

I’d rather Texas, OU and Arky as a Mizzou fan even if it’s a harder slate.

A first post possibly by a genuine new account and not an alter? How?

I mostly post on SDS & Reddit/CFB and never made an account on here. I usually just lurk, but I’ve seen a lot of discourse the past few days on 3-6 scheduling since media reports have confirmed the scheduling method will get decided next month at the ADs meeting, so I decided to hop in the discourse for fun

Nice work
I sincerely hope they go with this model regardless of how the permanents shake out, instead of a true pod system which is not as flexible. Not to mention I think there is zero chance of there being a mini playoff where the pods would meet to determine the SEC championship. They’re not going to add a game.
I would miss playing Bama Fla Aub every year but the beauty is, we’d never go more than a year without seeing them, plus we’d get to see the UGAs and the Tennessees way more often. Tennessee hasn’t played in BR in 12 years which is insane.

I thought LSU fans hated that game and complain about it constantly?

Looks good to me. I can't identify any important missed rivalries off the top of my head.

I hate that it’s a “rivalry” hence me not giving 2 shits about the trophy.

This is just about spot on with what I have been told IF they dont keep divisions. I mean spot friggin on and this is coming from a B'ham radio show host who played at Auburn who got his info from the SEC office.
Very well done. Great post.

You seem like a reasonable man. Just walk away from this hellscape before it sucks you in.
