We never actually even spoke with him. Got him a raise with a smokescreen. He and Yurachek are tight like that.

I would have liked to have him, but he's logically not the best choice. He comes with some baggage and he's gotta be fairly close to retirement anyway. Some are saying he wants to make his son the next coach at Houston. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but even if it isn't, it's not worth being upset about.
I also don't think we're getting Beard or Marshall, although Beard is obviously the best choice. If/when we wiff on the rest of the top five, then I'll be concerned.
