Tracy Rocker won't return to Tennessee, but will stay in the SEC East.

The veteran defensive line coach is expected to take the same role on the staff at South Carolina, sources told GoVols247 on Monday morning.

Great coach

Sub-par recruiter

Contract expired and Tennessee chose not to resign him. Decent coach, but a lazy recruiter.

Kind of a head scratcher. JP seems a bit more secure than Champ.

I hate these moves happening a week after signing day.

He is making the rounds in the East. Only question is whether Florida or Kentucky is his next stop.

As good as can be expected for a hire in February.

I’m going to assume this is sarcasm?

Solid coach but not a good recruiter.

Edit: should be a decent fit at USC with the young talent they have.

I had heard for a while he was going to Vandy. Tennessee let his contract expire.

Hmm? It is not the ideal time to hire coaches, so I think Muschamp was able to keep the quality of the position the same with the hire of Rocker.

What would be sarcastic about it?

Here is an article from a little over a month ago (January 7th) where it suggests that Rocker probably wouldn't be back at UT (when UT thought they had a chance at Lupoi).

Agreed but Tennessee will pony up cash if need be.

South Carolina is stuck with Muschamp
