Florida is a better school than us from a national standpoint.

We’re getting better but I’d give them the edge right now.

this thread was made after both an A&M and UF alum tried to claim academic superiority over UGA
Florida's claim is 100% legit; UF is a consensus 2nd after Vandy for academics

UGA & aTm are neck and neck for 3rd, with some ratings services that show aTm higher and others that show UGA higher

ACT is way more common than SAT in many areas. Would make more sense to measure the test taken. Maybe the SAT is more common on the east coast.

Happy to see we did OK in this rating, but I would have thought A&M would be neck and neck with Vandy.

For technical and scientific fields they are probably the best across the board. Given Vandy's size they are not going to have the breadth of programs A&M has.

And while grad programs work a bit differently (one faculty member can literally mean you have the best program in the country for a certain specialty), across the board I'd think A&M is better than the rest of the SEC schools.

Not sure about the case where you were studying Law or Business though. Frankly connections probably matter more there.

Would love to see everyone's score and there are other ways to get into these schools besides SAT scores. So what's the point??

Also, just because someone gets in, it doesn't mean they are smart or chosing a top degree. I've had professors that went to Georgia and they teach at lesser universities, so what does that say?

Again, it is dumb on a sports forum to discuss SAT scores.

When you are essentially paying people to attend your school, you are going to have hirer scores. Look at the Service Academies. Makes you wonder what would happen if the Hope Scholarship dries up.

Glad to see you substituting every relevant admissions metric for your own personal, ill-founded opinion. Objectively, A&M is less competitive and thus lower academically than both UGA and UF, as evidenced above. Not sure why you’re giving more weight to technical fields over disciplines like law, business, political science, etc. Take a look at who runs the world, it’s not engineers.

The key to all of this and a stat that is more relevant, what is the salary of these students after they graduate ? Getting steller HS performers is one thing, converting the mid-level HS performers into actual taxpayers is the primary mission of a University. What does that list look like ?

Eh, and I'm reading this on a computer, and you wrote it on another one, and transmitted your message across the internet which...

And this morning you probably took a shower, the water was moved to you over a piping system - Ok, you know where I am going with this.

Then you had your cornflakes...
