Today, I saw a Tennessee tag with "8 national titles" on it. That ain't right

this ncaa.com website shows the same thing I've always heard, which is 1951 and 1998... ncaa.com
For the record, this site negates the 1930 title for Alabama, and the 1941 title, which I never count anyway.
But a state of Tennessee tag indicating 8? What kind of goofy shite is that?

ha. Nowhere on the tag was there a note of another sport, and in the South, where football is king, the average guy is going to assume football titles.

I thought it was common knowledge that people in Tennessee take as much as pride in their women’s basketball program as their football program. This isn’t a slight at all.
8 NC’s made me automatically think Lady Vols.

ehh. You got a point there I guess, but I got no problem with UCF fans having fun with their undefeated season. I'm not sure how much fun they will have next year though.

I'm 99% positive you're making this entire story up. And 1% sure if in fact you aren't lying, and aren't completely full of shite and aren't a loser who should kill himself immediately, the tag you saw was referring to the Lady Vols basketball team who have won 8 National Championships
