I'll let you know sometime tomorrow if I need some help. I'm packing the SUV up tonight. I'm leaving my wife and daughter at the house (shutup CLT), so that will leave me to open seats to cram some more stuff. I've got about 15 cases of water and about 15 trash bags full of clothes right now that are taking up a good portion of room.
My buddy signed us up, but they are saying that we won't know exactly where we'll be until sometime tomorrow afternoon as the cleanup situation is a fluid one and needs change quickly. It will most likely be on the north side of Birmingham though. They've got two church dropoffs right around there that one is taking clothes, and the other is taking the other donations.

Thanks so much again to LanierSpots, mmjones87 and Rutherford B. Hayes for their generous donations, along with several other posters on here who are still collecting. I'm gonna head back in a few weeks, probably the middle of June, so if anybody else would like to donate, shoot me an email at nftiger0781@gmail.com and I'll be more than happy to swing by and grab whatever you've got. Based on some of the responses I've gotten, I'm really hoping to be able to load up a U-Haul for this next trip. We filled my SUV from front to back, top to bottom with supplies this time...made for a fun drive from Atlanta to B-Ham in Friday traffic.
Anyways, I thought I would let you all know where your donations ended up going this time, and most likely next, as I've kind of developed a soft spot for this town and people. The place we worked was in Pleasant Grove, partnering with the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove. For those unaware, Pleasant Grove is on the eastern outskirts of Birmingham, and like so many other places, was absolutely demolished by the tornado. The church had a map of the town with a highlighted area of how the tornado went through. It appears as though it went right through the middle of the town. However if there was anything to be considered hopeful from this tragedy, it was despite seeing so much devestation, the church was left virtually unscathed. This church is going to be the backbone of this community for years to come, even more so than before. The gymnasium is a virtual grocery store/cafeteria where locals can come for relief and supplies. The members/volunteers who have no doubt been running on fumes could not have been nicer in the face of everything they've face...even the sweet elderly Alabama fan who was giving my buddy hell about his Auburn shirt. I think her exact quote was something along the lines of "I hope ya'lls don't think ya'lls is gonna have the same type of year nows that Hollywood is gone".
Anyways, I just wanted to say that even though they had a lot of donations, they still need help. My buddy that I went with said that the gymnasium was only about a quarter of the way full from what it was two weeks prior when he went. My biggest fear is that even though so much outpouring and love has been shown over the past few weeks, that it will slowly dry up.
We ended up spending the day cutting downed trees and hauling to the road for pickup. We were very lucky in that it was a cool day and overcast, so we didn't come back burnt. You could hear the sound of chainsaws, hauling trucks, and bulldozers all day so the town is slowly trying to rebuild but it is going to take time obviously. Alabama Power was out running power lines next to where we were, so hopefully the homes that weren't destroyed will soon have uninterrupted power before too much longer.
Just wanted to say thanks again, and I'll update the first post of this thread so if the admins don't mind leaving this up, I'd be more than happy to collect any more donations ya'll would be interested in giving. Also, I'll include some picks from this weekend. Thanks again!

I have never been so amazed or proud of the people of Alabama as I am right now. It does a person's heart good to see so much being done for people that need help so badly. Everyone has been so generous and it makes me just tear up with pride at our wonderful people in this state.
I read in the paper this morning where a man donated a house to a 87 year old woman and her family, because hers had been destroyed and someone else furnished it for her. Isn't that wonderful?
Thanks so much for what you have done, and still planning on doing. I know you haven't done it for gratitude, but I do want to say that you should be thanked, and I am sure that these people appreciate you more than you will ever know. I'm sure that lady looks at Auburn shirts a little differently these days, because it was an Auburn fan that helped her. We should always remember that actions do mean more than words.
An Auburn fan may one day say "War Eagel", and the the next day say "how can I help". Got to go, getting a little teary right now.
