I think it happens tomorrow. If not, it won't be until the end of the season.

Just my opinion, but I doubt any announcements will me made today or this week. I'm sure the decision had already been made though. The Vol powers that be might wait until the Vandy or Kentucky game to announce anything?

I think it happens when thry have their next coach locked in and can announce it. Losing a game to bama that everyone knew they would lose isnt a reason to fire him.

Not a smart move to fire him now and Currie knows this.

Reports out of Knoxville indicate that UT’s powerful attorneys have been working on the details of a buyout over the last two weeks. And with the torture UT’s fan base has been put through with five years of Butch-isms, there’s little doubt that the pink slip will be issued before lunch on Monday (if not sooner).

Everybody knows Lyle is a dead man
walking, so don't see
what the point of firing him now would
be, except to toss the body to a ravenous
Tennessee lynch mob---but if you're
the AD, might not be a bad idea just to go
ahead and pierce the boil on your arse while
feeding the Orange goobers at the same time.

Honestly I think this is the ADs way of punishing Butch. If he was to fire him now he would still have a semi respectable overall record and could land another lower level head coaching job. If they tank the way I think they are going to tank with him, then he will be lucky to get a FCS head job. All the while their AD is telling other coaches oh yeah his arse is gone.
