Ever since that moment the dude has been way better. Still there are times he could improve, but he is a young head coach.

Future is bright at Mizzou.

Objectively speaking, you guys are what, 15-5 since then? It appears that coach Odom is the best guy for your program. Didn’t he play there as well? I know you can definitely see passion and heart in him, and ability to overachieve with one of the worst rosters, talent and recruiting wise, in the sec.

Yeah he was a pretty good linebacker in spite of a bad knee injury and was a team captain in 1999, and also a part of the bowl teams in 97 and 98. The First bowls we went to in 14 years

You have a good one that Mizzou. I like the way he speaks, doesn’t pause, no umm, just goes for it. He’ll get some recruits because they’ll want to be around him.

He definitely is charismatic and definitely has a presence about him. Without a doubt a great figure in a young man's life(especially if coming out of a rough home environment)

I knew it when he was a position coach and we lost him to Memphis as their DC.

It was obvious he was being groomed to take over the program.

His first interview back at Mizzou as the DC was the moment I knew without a doubt he'd be the next HC.

I'm glad the whacky events of 2015 didn't screw up destiny and Barry was rightfully chosen.

His on field tactical ability is execrable, and his post season record unimpressive. His teams are slow off the mark, and I have no idea what they do on off weeks.

But he appears to be making steps in the right direction. He certainly communicates well with players, if not fellow coachs. This year he has a team of his own making, a staff of his own making, and no excuses.

I want to like him, damn me if I don't, but every year SOMETHING gets screwed up. We shall see.

I like Odom, he’s a throwback coach. If he ever really gets the recruiting together he’ll be dangerous.

I see him as one of those guys like Pinkel. May start off slow, but once he is established.... watch out.

You're concerning me with the pro Mizzou posts I've seen lately. What's going on big guy?

You know, in all honesty I’ve always liked Mizzou. I was at the ‘79 Hall of Fame bowl and partied with a bunch of Mizzou fans. Good people. Have liked, and followed y’all, since. Really pulled for y’all to get invited into the SEC.

I’ve actually got a good friend I served with who is a ‘74 Alum of Mizzou as well.

Always thought y’all got a bad rap as fans and a school for what went down with BLM and all that Ferguson BS as well as Michael Sams .... that was out of y’all control and he was a good player regardless, although the whole cake munching scene was over the top.

I did have a big problem with how the sexual assault case was handled and I got a one month ban for that. Being a Dad to three girls that one bother me and I think that’s where their was a falling out of sorts. That poor girl deserved better IMHO and I’ll always believe that and knew details about it from my friend long before the entire story came out which vindicated me afterwards.

Truth be told Mizzou fans are good people and probably more like Gamecock fans in many regards than we are sometimes willing to admit.

Mizzou, some parts of it, are awesome. Love the Ozarks, love Branson (went a couple of times to see Andy Williams before he passed away) and love Creve Couer (hope I spelled that right) where my sister lived for awhile.

Busting balls is all in good fun for the most part, Had a good time both times I’ve been there for games although one time the Cards were in the playoffs and it sure sounded to me like fans were cheering louder for the Cards updates than they were for the football game ... but that’s understandable.

When Mizzou fans have come here they’ve always been classy. We’ve had several visit us after games in the Cockaboose and they are always gracious.

It’s got the potential to be a good little rivalry of sorts, although forced .... it’s become a fun game.

I also always had a lot of respect for Gary Pinkle. The guy always did more with less than perhaps anyone else in football other than a Bill Snyder and even that was close but that also made that game fun to watch at times.

I remember the days when Mizzou was an OLine factory churning out All American OLInemen every year along with some other great players like Roger Whirley and Johnny Roland.

Busting balls is mostly all in good fun.

Thanks Scrooster, and you should know by now I like Scar, but also enjoy picking at you guys in good fun. A few notes.

I don't see it as forced at all. We just happen to both be in the East so we play each other a lot. You just can't explain the wacky games we seem to play against each other. Nobody seen that coming, and nobody expected a rivalry to brew, they expected it with Arky and Mizzou.

You're singing my song here bud. I had the honor to watch him too in Branson before he passed. While in his 80's, he still had that powerful singing voice, dude is an icon. Put on a hell of a show too, Moon River was awesome to hear live.

I think it's a fun rivalry, mainly because both campuses are in towns named Columbus.

Busting balls

Is an art; most don't know how to do it or know when it's being done to them.
