The defenses are too good in the SEC for that to work over the course of the season.
like who? Bama? Who else?

Would be a terrible hire. Make it happen.
How so? Half of people on here say this with no reason for it.
Would not fit in in any way.
He's also always coached in leagues where the refs call everything for the offense. SEC doesn't do that.
Does not like to spend time recruiting.

You mean making calls for Bama to get them into the playoffs, free from upset?
Doesn't like spending time recruiting, seriously?

He's won big at some really difficult jobs. He had Texas Tech in the top 5...
His best team at Texas Tech finished #11. TT hasn't had a top 10 finish since the 70s.
Edit: I looked it up and that team actually finished #12.

Stupid replies like this might be why no one ever answers you, as you said.
Was he the one who was accused of locking the son of Craig James in a shed?

Love Mike Leach. He is like Paul Johnson with his zingers...but Leach's are just...different.
I think GT would be a good fit for him
culture and scheme wise.
But I think GTs recruiting would be too difficult for him if he doesnt like to recruit.
But no doubt GT needs either spread option or spread pass to succeed in the current environment.
All that said we probably go grab Ken from Navy.

LSU should hire the dude who just beat them. Neal Brown is a stud. Hope Ole Miss has a shot at him

Certainly UGA, AU and maybe UF.Him and Mumme were at UK
together and while putting up big numbers they weren't
a raging success and they cheated their asses off.
His best team at TT lost to an above average Ole Miss
by 13 and should have been more had they not given up
13 garbage points in the 4th qtr

Air Raid would not work at GT or Vandy. Both need a
run oriented, ball control defense that'll eat up
clock and keep the defense off the field.

shite, I bet LSU would build him a huge replica pirate ship with some phony cannons he could fire off. Just let Yawyaw stink up the field a few more times and you'd have volunteers swarming campus to do volunteer carpentry work.

Hes a little different just like lsu's fan base could be a good match and do not think you ever need to worry about the toss dive or jet sweep in his offense

I'm not sure his O would work in the SEC. UK ran a form of it under Mumme.
ETA Leach may have been the OC at that time.
And it worked pretty damn well for the talent level.
Lord help us all if LSU hired him.

One winning record (7-5)in 4 years, his last year was a disaster and they also cheated their asses off.
A mixed bag at best

Not sure you could keep him out of Lake Charles long enough to coach. He'd be digging for Jean Lafitte's buried treasure in his spare time and raiding the shore to kidnap the Mayor every Pirate Festival.

I'm trying to imagine Leach with our talent and I start crying a little bit.
