I’ve had a couple days to keep my meltdown from leaking all over the rant, so here’s my takeaways.

1. LSU is a good football team. I was high on them coming into the season, but they’re better than I thought. Burrow is the first competent QB they’ve had in 4 or 5 years and they have depth on the OL and DL that they haven’t had.

2. Gus is still a moron. He killed multiple drives for Auburn with boneheaded trick plays. Auburn also wouldn’t put their best personnel on the field, because Gus was worried about playing a freshman. Still more of the same.

3. Auburn must make changes on the offensive line and in the secondary to have a successful season. Our secondary missed multiple assignments and our OL is soft at C and RG.

4. Auburn is currently an 8-9 win team. Depending on a tossup game with MSU, which I would currently pick State in.

5. LSU is a 10-11 win team. They won’t beat both Bama and UGA, but I would be surprised if they didn’t beat one of the two.

Congrats on the win, corndogs.

Why is no one jumping on Stidham? Stop blaming everyone else and look his way. Those two interceptions hurt - and they were really bad passes.

I think this might be true. I am cautiously optimistic.

I have actually been shocked at how inaccurate he has been.

I posted that LSU needed dumb Gus in the 2nd half, we got him!

Not sure about this...

Stidham looks exactly like last year. He has not improved on his pocket presence at all. His first pass was awful, but the rest of the game he wasn’t that bad outside of his pocket awareness.

Because Auburn fans always want to blame Gus.

Penalties, Interceptions, play calling (even though he is not calling the plays), etc

I wouldn't be so hard on your team. ya'll have a good team. it was 2 good teams trading punches and we won with the last blow.

we are not championship caliber yet but we have time to mature into one.

good luck to ya'll on the rest of your schedule. i'd love for ya'll to beat Georgia and alabama.

He is just scared of getting killed. He does not have a natural pocket presence. That wont change and it will be hard to coach him out of that in our system

He's been extremely disappointing considering the hype.

The first one was on him, the second one was the WR not coming back to a back-shoulder throw.

All this and if dont miss one Field Goal, everyone would be celebrating

That is how thin the line is with Gus and our fans.

He also didn't try to come back to try to make a tackle.

He ran that route like he thought he was a decoy. I guess he was for Stidham.

Good post.

I actually wasn’t able to watch the game, but the score alone indicated it was a gem.
Sounds like it was just one of those games where both teams were very evenly matched, and someone had to lose.

Maybe I’m reading too much between the lines, but are you not a Gus fan?

Our secondary is our weakest link too. Jimbo somewhat played it off in today’s presser, but I think that’s where we’ll lose the game Saturday.

We have an entirely new offensive line with 4 new starters. WE have a completely new secondary with 4 new starters. This is a solid team but not a championship team. We will win some games but we will also lose a few more. I was hoping we could get past LSU which would give us some time before we played anyone with a pulse for a while and give them time to grow up. They were one field goal from that happening

At first I thought you were being wayyyy too pessimistic. Auburn ain’t great, but they’re a legit top 10 team.

Then I remembered your schedule. Sucks to be 1-1 against current top 10 teams, but still have #1 and #2 yet to be played.

Heck, MSU might be knocking on a top 10 ranking in a few weeks.

I don’t think so. You’re just trying to make the loss seem better. LSU is a 8-9 win team.

You’ll probably end up winning a game you thought you would lose.

What’s with all of Auburn’s new starters?
NFL? Injuries?
Kinda surprised y’all don’t have more depth.

Everyone knew this was going to be a tough schedule. And it will be. I see our 3 hardest games left are TAM, UgA and Bama. All at the end of the year.. Hopefully we can grow up and win one of those. But you never know.

I really am not pissed too much about things on Saturday other than Stidhams play and the PI penalties. Our secondary is a legit concern. More than the running game in my opinion.
