20 team mega conferences are dumb unless this just becomes a breakaway league separate from the NCAA that basically acts like a minor league for the NFL.
And no I’m not scared of Clemson joining but when talk of Ohio State and Michigan potentially joining started I began to realize how really dumb this is all becoming.

Does a 20 team bring more money to the conference than 16 teams?

Unfortunately I fear that is true, and if this next round of expansion is just to 16 teams then I don’t see that even lasting a decade that way before changing to something like 20 team mega conferences.

The problem with that is the SEC is getting strong by adding teams. The other conferences will be diluting it. Not enough good teams spread around. We’d be better off with them being smaller. Have the mega-ultra SEC at 20. Then have a strong pac 10, Big Ten, & ACC each with 10-12 schools. The rest go play in smaller conferences. That gives you 4 players at the table, but the SEC should get 2-3 seats vs their 1.

Why 64-80 teams?
There aren't that many competitive programs. That's basically just jettisoning G5 conferences.
Two 20 team mega conferences are all that is necessary. Let the NCAA manage the rest that are left behind.

Half the fun was conference vs conference in OOC games and bowls etc. While this will be fun at first, I fear we are diluting things way too much.
I think we’re all going to look back one day soon and realize that all of this was a bad mistake.

Yep. College football as we knew it is over... if I could change my vote in Chicken's poll I would vote NO now. Regardless if by some miracle OU and TX STAY PUT, they have already caused reverberations around college sports and every school will now have contingency plans.
