This isn't the first time Mike Leach has gotten in trouble on twitter

He cost Washington State 1.6 million in donations after retweeting a heavily edited video of Obama that made it look like he said something he didn't.

PULLMAN, Wash. — A tweet of a doctored video of former President Barack Obama sent by Washington State University head football coach Mike Leach in June might have cost the school $1.6 million.
Washington State's vice president for marketing and communications Phil Weiler said the tweet did not result in donors asking for their money back, but some did tell school officials they had altered their plans for future giving.
"These were primarily estate gifts that would have been paid out upon the donor’s death. These future estate gifts would have totaled $1.6 million," he said.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reported that the athletic department's fundraising arm received around 60 e-mails complaining about Leach after he tweeted the fake video, which edited together snippets of a 2014 speech Obama made in Belgium, in June.

Saban doesn't use twitter and seems to be doing just fine.

Winning Twitter can translate to winning over a recruit. Everyone loves that man's Twitter.

You make a good point. Maybe you can't win Twitter as a head coach, but you can probably lose at it.

That's kinda the point. Leach isn't Saban. Neither is Lane Kiffin. Those guys need to win social media to make a splash with recruits because their schools don't recruit themselves.

Costing a school 1.6 million in donations would get some coaches fired. I love his twitter but as a HC you do kind of have to be careful of what you tweet.

Several years ago during Obama, and when Leach was at Texas Tech, I saw a story where Leach was good friends with businessman, Donald Trump.

Regardless of the intention about being stuck around your spouse for an extended period of time, Leach had to know that the imagery of a friggin noose wouldn't play well in Mississippi

I doubt it since the Pac12 has the worst TV Deal and the lowest Revenue distribution among P5 Conferences
