Either you hire an OC for $2M+, you promote from within, or you hire someone desperate. Not sure what LSU fans were expecting. No decent OC is going to come for less than $2M at that point. It would be an insult. They tried to run with aTm and they got burned. Tried to spend money they don't have. It's like when Russia tried to spend money with the U.S. and eventually they went broke.

To replace Orgeron after this year they'll also have to either promote Aranda, dictate to the candidates Aranda will be DC, or go very budget on the hire, because there's no way they can afford to pay Aranda his 7.5m buyout plus buyout Eaux and other assistants, then pay 6-7m for a top tier coach plus buyout and what his new assistants will cost

I'm not a fan of it, nor Alleva nor O's hirings, but will be fair in letting O and the aforementioned go out on their shields, if it comes to it.
