“They’re so desperate they’re trying to buy a championship by tripling his salary!”

I can confirm that these words were spoken by Wisconsin fans when LSU hired away their star defensive coordinator by giving him a raise from $500,000 to 1.5 million.

It is your money. Spend it the way you want to. Not a problem as far as I am concerned.

Good for aggie. Go get him.
I'm actually pretty bored with the constant flaming from the aggie camp.

LSU didn't offer to nearly double the salary of the highest paid coordinator in the country. They offered to pay Aranda what other top DCs were making. A&M is desperate. The have money few schools do but there is no denying their desperation after this offseason

Lol no it isn't. He's a fan of the team. He has no ownership in the money or the decision making process.
That's the beauty of it all. I couldn't care less about how much booster money flows into the staff. I'm not paying for it.

This is a dumb comparison. We were going to be paying Chavis 1.8mil if he stayed. So we saved money by getting a much better, young talent.

Yep. But dammit it all to hell if we don’t do whatever we can to fix that shite.

am Wisconsin fan. Never heard this.

Alabama reset the market when they hired Saban in 2007. But I still have to wonder where this stops. I could never imagine 4 million a year in 2007 would be 11.4 million in 2017-18.

No problem by me. Honestly, there is no reason for either one of us to not have a top DC throwing around that kind of money.

The issue is your head coach... well and the AD.
HC - not too bright and not that well paid
AD - hated by everyone- but the HC

Think about it this way. It took almost doubling the salary of the highest paid coordinator in the country to have him even consider A&M's offer. That should tell you all you need to know about how much coaches want to coach there and the depths you have to go to get good coaches. You have made desperate hires for decades. This is nothing new.

It’s amazing. There was one coach making north of a million in 1997. You have coaches making four million a year in 2017 that aren’t above .500 in their career.
