Yes, we cheer for our team’s former players, but as a Falcons fan, I wanted Tua to throw MORE interceptions.

Don’t some of you Saints (and LSU fans) fans want Burrow to fall on his face when/if he plays the Saints?

Same for all the Panthers (and AU) fans here if Cam ever comes back and plays them.

I’ve always cheered for former players to do good, but they are gone and making money for their team now - just like any person who graduated from your school and went to work earning a living doing anything.

Same as cheering against someone because they went to another school. My pastor is a LSU grad., I don’t cheer against him to have a horrible service or to do something evil. My wife’s brother graduated from Auburn, I love the guy.

These threads are just silly (and I’ve been silly in them as well) - but in some instances, just stupid.

Cheering against a pastor is odd. Strange thread.

No.

I want him to play well, but to lose

So, you would want Burrow to pass for 500 yards against your defense . . . But lose?

I don't believe you fully understand that these people that make these threads are merely tired of having their azz reamed out by Alabama.

The thread gives them some relief.

I haven’t ever started a thread about the NFL that I can recall. Regardless, I haven’t ever really had a team in the NFL, or the MLB for that matter. The closest thing I have is being a casual Titans “fan” because I’m from Tennessee. I do, however, follow LSU NFL and MLB players and root for them to do well in their professional careers. I’m a Grizzlies fan in the NBA, being from Memphis, and I admittedly don’t follow the handful of LSU NBA players all that closely, and actually having a team I root for might be why.

TBH, I don’t really recall so many NFL threads until the Fournette/Henry dick measuring that took over this board 5 years ago. I think that was the catalyst, and it’s been a back and forth ever since

I think you're right.

Probably because most of the Alabama and LSU players in the NFL, with the exception of some WRs, were defensive players - not a lot of huge game stats to look at, even if they are really good.

When feature RBs and QBs starting making the league for both teams, it got absurd.

That makes no sense. I think you were meaning something else that is entirely inappropriate and way off base.

He stopped making sense about 4 years ago. I'm guessing that's when his health insurance ended and he was taken off his meds.

Yeah it’s gotten pretty annoying. If an Alabama player does poorly, an LSU fan will start a thread and vice versa. If an LSU player does well, an LSU fan will start a thread about and vice versa. Every. Single. Week. I wish this board would change the record but I don’t really see that happening any time soon. And it’s really just regarding NFL players from those two schools, which makes it that much more obnoxious. At the end of the day, those two teams have some of the best players in the league, so it would be nice if everyone could stop obsessing over who is better on a weekly basis

I think the best example of what OP is getting at is Benny Snell at RB for the Steelers....I'm a Bengals fan. They also had Bud Dupree for awhile.

When the game was on, I kind of liked seeing them do good but mostly didn't give a shite. At that point I was all Bengals, and we fricking hate, hate, HATE the Steelers.

Conversely Peyton Manning might be a good guy, but that sonofabitch played for Tennessee and it was going to be a cold day in hell before I ever cheered for his arse.
