We should just go back Independent and you all can take Clemson. Would love to see them lose in the SEC every year and for us to get random arse home and away games.
No way we could sustain that financially, SC isn't a brand name school

This has been the most boring series the SEC has offered since it was founded. Time to nix it.
The Bonham trophy is a cherished, irreplaceable, and iconic part of the college football landscape and nothing should be allowed to interrupt this unique tradition.
Absolutely. It's an important time of year when we can be reminded of Texas history and honor a great patriot who fought and died at the Alamo! Also, my Mom's family is from South Carolina.
In reality though I am suspicious of how they have Florida scheduled to come back to College Station for the 2nd Time in 3 years and wonder if the SEC is trying to shift UF from LSU to A&M for an annual game. UF has a lot more in common with A&M than LSU. More realistically the Permanent Rivalries are going to be significantly adjusted after Texas and OU join and may go away altogether.

Florida fans might disagree. Why should they play LSU each season as a forced SEC rivalry?
Posted on 10/26/21 at 7:25 am to starkvingrad
If you take away 3 or 4 results, the other 5 were all within 7 points or less losses for SC IIRC.

It was fun to best their arse when Motormouth Muschamp was there...now they have a good decent man for a coach. They are going to be like Leach and MSU. They are never going to win an SEC championship, but they will damn sure screw up your season.

Your annual loss to Mizzou getting to you?

I'm still a little sad that Kenny Hill broke Spurrier. The conference isn't as much fun without the HBC.

The way Gamecocks are getting desperate for this series to end reminds me of LSU in the 80s, who were so desperate to stop losing to A&M that they broke their contract.

We miss you too. If we stilled played regularly we both would have avoided some massive SEC losing streaks.

This isn't the first time I've seen an Aggie bring this up, my question is why and where did this come from? Seems a little odd they want to disregard what has become the best and most entertaining new rivalry that came out of permanent cross-divisional opponents.

I don't think Aggies are clammoring for it per se, I just can see how it makes sense. A&M and UF are the 2 largest schools in the SEC. They are both big AAU schools. They both come from big states. Gainesville and CS have a lot in common in terms of being college towns. UF has had more success in football but A&M is improving and the resources being put into athletics make it a big game.
LSU and UF is a good game because both schools have been good generally. They are both original SEC schools. They are both Land Grant Schools. That's about it.
For UF their Rivals will always be UGA and FSU far above any other schools and they have no true link to any West schools. Neither LSU or A&M have a real link to East schools.
Thus the debate becomes about money and politics. The Administrations for A&M and UF would likely rather play each other. The SEC would probably like to have the 2 biggest schools play each other. Is it a big deal either way? Not really.

TAMU vs SCAR is idiotic.
It should go away with the expansion.
I'd rather have a 10 team conference, but 16 may be better than 14 if they get it right.
Keep it as east and west. 2 cross division games per team per year with NO permanent cross division match-ups. I'd even be okay with no cross division games at all except for the championship game, like Major League Baseball used to do it. You could almost look at it as two 8 team conferences who agree to play a championship game at end of year.

I love playing East teams as a part of the schedule. I hate that UGA has not come to Kyle yet. A plan to make that harder would suck.

Yup! The last 3 plus Kenny Trill in '14 were blowouts, but the other 4 were close games. The expansion will probably make this question moot, but it's only a matter of time before SC is pretty good again.

What sucks is that we're in the same conference. They should be regional. When they're not, you get forced "rivalries" that make no sense like TAMU and SCAR.

What?
LSU and Florida have played each other every season for nearly 70 years, that's your link.

If this were to happen, it would not be because they are AAU schools or that Gainesville and College station are similar size college towns. It would be because it financially benefits the conference. Regardless, it's not being proposed.

Wasn’t SC like really good before we joined the SEC? For like a 5-10 year stretch, I thought the announcer said that during the game
