Let's see, I think they both have one title as a result of having the best player that year. AU has one more undefeated season, and probably more conference championships, and plays tougher competition. So yes, I do think Auburn has been the better football school than Texas, this century.

And the only two with any legs to talk it is Alabama & LSU. The rest of you haven't had nearly the success as Auburn. Which is way guys like Texag7 & TheForeHorseman have to D ride Bama.
Scoper: I like Auburn, the LSU/Auburn game is for me one of the most see games that is on LSU's schedule. Now I see them all, but as a season ticket holder, the games that get the emotion and tension in the air around Baton Rouge for every LSU fan from any generation are the Bama, Florida and Auburn games. The Texas A&M game quickly got to that level as well.
But in an 8 team Division where you all are in it with Bama, Florida and UGA, that is a tough hill to climb.
LSU in a division with OU, Texas and Texas A&M is one that yes will be tough, but there is not a pecking order there and nothing to me changes for LSU. OU and Texas recruit well, OU does something with it, Texas does more with less than any School in the Country (USC is a close 2nd).
LSU on the field just in the recent period, is 8-2 vs Aggie, 1-0 vs. OU and Texas. So I would say program wise, they need to catch us and win a NC on the field.
