There should never be a situation where a team that doesn’t win their division should make

it to the playoffs. In saying that, I can sense some legitimate fear from LSU fans that it might just happen again... This year is different though, LSU is obviously the better team, They were up by 3tds at the half, come out extremely flat and sleepwalked through the second half until they needed to score. If I were LSU fans, I’d be excited to play bama again if the opportunity presented itself.

I go back and forth on whether I want to see the 4 best teams in the playoffs or whether I want to see the 4 best conference champions. I usually go with the 4 best teams.

That being said, I don't think that what bama has shown so far qualifies as one of the 4 best teams.

There is raw fear...that's about as bad as Alabama could play and LSU gets a 5 point win.

You can't count on them playing like they did in the first half again. But I doubt we'll get to see it.

The Nationals are undeserving. Forget what the results tell you.

YES, THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT....If 2 of the 4 best teams are in the same conference, so be it. I don't think ALa is one of the 4 best this year though, especially with Tua hobbling. If he wasn't hurt then I'd have to look at numerous stats because aLA. IS STILL PRETTY TOUGH.

The precedent was set when Ohio State in 2016 made the playoffs over a 2-loss division and conference winner that beat them. Wow!

But we wanna go back on that now. Doesn't seem fair

Be glad LSU played as poorly as they did in the third quarter or you would have lost by 20 or 21.

Assure you there’s no fear gump .... Bama played bad because they had to play a quality team. You can’t count on LSU playing a second half like they did again. See how easy words can be written. In football you have to win it on the field... not on a chat board. Geaux Tigers

In fairness....did Alabama play badly because they made mental errors, or id Alabama play badly because LSU did not give them anything.

There were a lot of mental errors and the Tua fumble, no doubt.

But....LSU didn't give Alabama anything and Alabama had no answers.

If they play again, I think it would be a closer game. Saban would clean up a lot of the mental mistakes. on the other hand I think LSU is just better than Alabama and would win again.

I think the majority believes this also, the score was a lot closer than the game.

Bama keeps saying this...

But you got 3 big TDS

It very easily could have been way worse.

Conference champion is a small part of their decision process.
I read the whole article and some of it is not what we think.
1 or 0 losses is one of the biggest factors. If a conference champion has 2 losses there is little chance they get in.

Alabama never gets a fair shake. It’s a travesty, really.

I think it should be the 4 best teams. A team like Bama shouldn't be penalized just because they are in the same division as LSU.

I do think it would take a 2 loss champion for them to get in though. If you still have Ohio State, LSU, and Clemson undefeated at the end with a 1 loss Oregon or OU, they will be out even though I think they most likely beat Oregon.

Honestly? I think it be funny as shite if Alabama made it to the playoffs and beat LSU. The melt here would be epic. Since college football is basically rigged anyway and the same 5 or 6 teams are the only ones who have a chance to get in it anyway , then frick it, I'm going to watch for the biggest potential melt factor alone. And that would be fricken hilarious
