Beamer thought this was a good idea when we were averaging 10 yards a rush this drive

We were running the ball well and hindsight being 20/20, you just continue to run the ball and hammer it in. … That was a play we’d been working all week,” Beamer said. “Jordan has thrown that ball, I think in high school, something we’d been working on all along this week. And he’s made some great throws on it. I didn’t really see the angle of it from the sideline. Yesterday, we ran it in our walk-thru in the indoor and he threw a beautiful ball in the back of the end zone and he led Nick (Muse) and Nick caught it as he’s going out-of-bounds. But I think it may have been a little bit underthrown, I’m not really sure. Their guy made a nice play. “But we had talked about it as an offensive staff, the first time we got down there inside the 5, we were going to get to that call. We told Jordan, run it and make them tackle you if you don’t like the pass. He was trying to make a play. We were trying to make a play. If it works, it’s great. It doesn’t, you get criticized.” Beamer added, “We liked the play and felt good about it.” When asked if there was a way to scrap the decision to run that play, Beamer said it would've been up to him. “The (way) is me as the head coach, to overrule the call when I hear it on the head phones,” he said. "And I liked the call. Worst-case scenario, you have a 270-pound guy that runs probably a 4.5 40 running the ball that they have to tackle and it didn’t work. … Hindsight being 20/20, sure, you’d keep running the ball and just hammer it in, in that situation.”

Yeah that was a head scratcher for sure. Outthought himself.

Because he’s never even been a coordinator and we hired him as a head coach. I wouldn’t be sad if Ray Tanner chokes on his fricking steak and keels over.
