I do believe Meyer is stepping away because of health. Dude seems to be so consumed with it that it's killing him.

Some places/pieces are painting this as a "Look how much he cares and gives" thing. I don't subscribe to that.

A few other coaches have achieved as much or more than he has without it overwhelming them. Saban is the easy (if overused) example. The 3 Natties are impressive, and not many have that number.

I still believe, though, that this is mostly a matter of poor personal management. He can run a football program, but he can't manage his own emotions, work habits, life balance, whatever.

Billie Gillispie was similar (but with different self-destructive mechanisms), though he never hung around long enough to win it all.

In both cases, the guys simply couldn't carve out a basic space for real life. Some call that dedication and passion. I call it poor self-management that makes me question what other corners get cut.

Yes those guys that do a good job of this are firmly entrenched in mediocre teams that will never sniff a natty. When you're the coach of a powerhouse DI team that's expected to compete for not only your conference but national championships each year, and are getting the millions to do so, you will have no time for personal things. You eat, drink and sleep Football and recruiting 24/7/365.

That's because Nick Saban is a soulless bastard, and I mean that as a compliment.

You can't really compare anyone to him. The dude has shown emotion like three times in almost 70 years.

I do too. I honestly don’t believe the whole “heart health” story either, I think the dude is having debilitating panic attacks on the sideline based off the way he acts. He rubs his head and looks like he’s freaking the frick out at all times, it’s just my hunch but it looks like he has an anxiety disorder that he can’t get a grip on

CUM is a fraud and a pos. He runs programs that lets thugs keep thugging. And then when his program starts to crack he runs away saying he got health problems. He destroyed Florida and they still aint got it together all the way yet after all these years. But Mullins is working on it. And now Ohio State is falling apart so he running for the hills. In about a year or 2 he will say that hes all healed and start over his shite system all over again some where else.

If 12-1 is falling apart, I’ll take that every time. Hell the U would sign Mark Richt a lifetime extension, same at Auburn if Gus or Coach O at LSU could pull that off.

Do you guys remember being a kid and going outside to play ball with your friends? There was usually one kid who had the best ball(because his parents would buy him anything he wants and he was spoiled) and if his team started losing and not every little thing was going his way, he would then say, "I am taking my ball and going home." Urban Myer was that kid.

12-1. An all-time win over our rival. Big Ten champs. Rose Bowl.

Yep. Barely hanging on...

tOSU report was one of the greatest shite-shows I've ever seen.

quote:

The report revealed Meyer 'had significant memory issues' and may have deleted old texts.

quote:

"We also learned during the investigation that Coach Meyer has sometimes had significant memory issues in other situations where he had prior extensive knowledge of events," the report states. "He has also periodically taken medicine that can negatively impair his memory, concentration, and focus."
