It's going to be a monumental and unlikely task, but if Florida pulls it off, I'd question anyone that didn't vote us #1.

Think about this.. with your brain. Do you think Florida or LSU could be OSU or Bama right now?

I don't think Florida could, I think LSU could put up the best fight, but I'd have to give the edge to OSU and Bama.

Why not #1? I mean Bama will have a chance once they play the tougher opponents anyway. Clemson and Ohio State have not played great competition yet either. Oklahoma and Texas will influence rankings quite a bit.

No, the teams in the top 3 need to be the teams the voters think are the top three. It doesn’t matter what their strength of schedule was. According to your way of thinking Auburn should have been #1 going into this past weekend. How ridiculous!

Last year Bama and Clemson played wimpy schedules, got to the playoffs and kicked the shite out of the others. By the end of the year voters should weigh strength of schedule more, because we’ll know by then which teams are good.

Correct. Obsession with rankings right now is ridiculous. I get that people want their teams to be recognized and appreciated, but if you keep winning, it will work out. Get ranked high right now and lose, and people will laugh at you and say you were overrated.

Be patient.

Obsession? Not really though. How many times have I heard about Bama or Clemson with all these weeks of being ranked #1. Those streaks play in to recruiting and overall national perception. Teams should be rewarded each week for wins against good teams. They sure are moved down if they lose

Every time the rankings come out we have to listen to SOME LSU fans asking why they aren't higher than ___________ .

Yes. Obsession. Rankings mean nothing until the first playoff rankings come out, and even then they mean minimal. If you keep winning you will go to the playoffs. It doesn't matter what Alabama, Georgia, Clemson or anybody else does. If your team keeps winning they go.

Not right now they don't. Signing day is in December, and perception mean nothing. If a kid decides not to go to your school because of a week 6 ranking, then you probably don't need or want him anyway. At the end of the regular season if you go to the playoffs the kid that puts a high value on rankings will want to go to your school.

Not when the schools above them is winning, too. I can guarantee you if your team was ranked #1 and beat Vandy and your team moved own in the rankings you would be upset, too......because you won. Now, if you are in the top 5 and a team above you loses and you don't move ahead of the....yeah...I would get it.

Honestly, based on teams played yet to date; the winner of the LSU vs Fla game
should be ranked in the top 2 of any poll worth it's salt.

Winner should be #1 until someone accomplishes more.

Clemson arguably doesn’t belong in the playoffs even if they go 13-0. Their schedule is that bad.

I truly hope they make LSU #1 if y’all beat Florida convincingly. I’d love for Auburn to have to play at the #1 team in the nation as well in Baton Rouge.

If there are 4 other undefeated teams they absolutely should be left out. They should be paired with UCF in a non-playoff bowl game.

The two schools’ schedules are comparable.

Yep and they can spend all year prepping for teams who might be in the playoffs because there is no one on their schedule they have to plan for on a weekly basis. Team is always fresh and unscathed due to playing in powder puff conference.

since they will have a chance to play the teams ahead of them, it does not matter much

Ohio State and Clemson I will grant you though
