Between the opening week dud against UCLA and John Emery being ruled academically ineligible for the season (rumored to be due to registering for the wrong class), bad news seems to be coming in spades for O and LSU.

O and LSU still have time (and a full SEC schedule) to turn things around, but once it becomes clear that the head coach is on the chopping block, he loses credibility with the players, guys start looking at the portal, draft eligible guys start making business decisions on the field to save themselves for the NFL.

Teams talented enough to go 10-2/11-1 with good coaching and effective leadership can go 4-8/5-7 when the wheels fall off. If O doesn’t turn it around soon, maybe by beating Miss State or Auburn in the next three weeks, he might not be LSU’s coach next year.

This is where you know LSU is getting soft... in recent years that shite would have been taken care of and never been made public.

This garbage about it being from scheduling a wrong class....GMAFB. They have people take care of all that. Zero chance that is what happened.

Ed knows where the bodies are buried, so they’re going to have to tread very lightly. I don’t think they can really blackball Ed either, since he’s probably content spending the rest of his days chasing tail in Grand Isle and counting his money. LSU has backed themselves into a lose lose situation. They are staring down the barrel of a Florida State/Tennessee level crash and burn and the altimeter might be too low to do anything about it. The vigor in which this ball of shite has gathered downhill size and momentum has few parallels in a high major athletic department.

You seriously think big time boosters and strong political adversaries are afraid of Ed? That's not how the real world works, son.

If this is really why he was declared ineligible, someone needs to be fired and this is something that should be able to be fixed quickly.

Have you watched them? They aren’t too 4 in conf on either line. They don’t have 10-2/11-1 talent on that roster.

I think the wheels fell off when Burrow and Brady left, they've just been tumbling off a mountain ever since.

My athlete academic advisor absolutely got me into a wrong class my freshman year.

2000 Bama comes to mind. So does 2012 Auburn.

At least Ed and Chiz have won something of consequence which is more than I can say for that idiot Dubose.

When Ed can testify that higher ups at the state institution were complicit in rape allegations, it’s exactly how the world works grandpa. This is 2021, not 1995. We aren’t talking about an intelligent, rational man. He has the personality equivalent of a drunk 21 year old

Les Miles could do this just as well, especially since he was the head coach at the time.

Powerful people involved in LSU athletics don't have a good track record revolving around their judgement the past few years. I wouldn't trust their ego driven judgement when things can blow up in their faces very easily. Being unafraid is exactly what can get you in trouble right now.

Debatable

Everyone thinks O has some kind of dirt regarding the rape allegations but they seem to forget he was just the defensive line coach at the time.

It's possible he knew very little to nothing about any kind of cover up, all of that happened way above his head.
