My only question is whether this was a stunt by Mason to try to keep his job or set himself up for another job
I have no doubt in my mind this was it. He thought for sure they wouldn't fire the coach who brought in the first female power 5 player.
The plan worked almost perfectly too. In every recap of the weekend's games you don't once see a mention of the score, vandy going 0-8, or Mizzou winning and kicking their arse. When they get to that game in the lineup it's all about Sarah Fuller. He probably thought he set it up perfectly but the AD wasn't falling for his shite.

What is funny is that she probably legitimately thought the "rah rah" mentality that goes on in womens softball, soccer and volleyball was the same with mens sports

If I’m going to be honest, I was a little pissed off at how quiet everybody was on the sideline. … We made a first down, and I was the only one cheering and I was like – what the heck? What’s going on? And I tried to get them pumped up, and I was like, ‘You guys need to start [cheering] your team on.’;
My main thing was during the SEC tournament, my entire team was cheering the entire time. It didn’t matter if we were in the locker room or if they were on the sidelines, I think that’s what won it for us. Everybody was cheering non-stop. I just went in there, and I said exactly what I was thinking. I was like, ‘We need to be cheering each other on. This is how you win games. This is how you get better by calling each other out for stuff, and I’m going to call you guys out.’
We need to be supporting one another. If we get a first down, if an interception happens, it’s our fault. We need to be lifting each other up. That’s what a team’s about. I think this team has struggled, and that’s been part of it. We really just need to build that team camaraderie where they can all lean on one another. It was an adjustment going from that team mentality where – hey, we’re all here supporting one another, and I just wanted to bring that to this team.

I was somewhat on board with the whole Sarah Fuller thing until I heard about the half time speech. Did they really let someone that won a women’s soccer league championship address an SEC football team and tell them essentially “how winning is done.”? This is asinine, my 5th grade basketball team went undefeated, do I get to address the team at halftime this week to berate them and tell them how to win?
Well, she had actually won something. Vandy football, OTOH, 0-7 at that point. It's not like they were going to do any worse.

Oh yes, cheering on the sidelines is the problem at Vanderbilt. I thought the students there were really smart?

I’m pretty sure the reason Vandy has struggled is an extreme lack of talent at virtually every position. It’s not because they don’t cheer on their teammates enough. Jfc

What have our female posters thought about this stunt?
Posted on 12/2/20 at 1:58 pm to Mstate
she wouldnt cheer for every first down either if she played every Saturday knowing they would lose.
Its incredible, the gap between vandy and whoever is the 2nd worse team in the sec. Hell, lsu blew them out by 40. Didnt South Carolina blow them out. That place is in shambles right now.
I got two words of advice for the ad and whoever is involved in the coaching search, its the only way they will have a chance to win the bigger games where there is such a huge gap in athleticism.
Triple option

She apparently believes that if you do cheer after every first down they would win some games. Simple, see?
And that is why you do not allow someone with zero experience address the team. She had not even done anything at that point in the game.

I’m sorry for you if you don’t see the difference between a bunch of guys pumping themselves up before a game and cheering for every first down when you’re down by over 40
And getting your arse chewed by the walk-on who hasn’t built any rapport with the team, harping on “how to win”

I am of the opinion that triple option wouldn’t be very effective in the SEC because of how athletic the athletes are. A case study for this is in Division II football, between Harding and Ouachita Baptist. Harding has had a lot of success in the conference and playoff field once they adopted the triple option, however once Ouachita started to invest more into their program and adopted bigger/stronger athletes, Harding has been unable to win a game against them since. Apply that to a bigger SEC scale, and you’re looking at a Vanderbilt team who is arguably less competitive than they already are, at least in this conference.
The triple option is great when you aren’t in the big leagues, but at some point you have to just get bigger/stronger to stay competitive.

I disagree. I think this came from above Mason.
