...I predict.

Both schools have combined for 6 appearances in the championship game in the last 5 years and winning it 3 of the past 5 times.

Both schools rank #1 (Georgia) and #2 (Alabama) in the amount of money spent on recruiting.

Both schools, residing in the same conference, are situated in different divisions, potentially setting up a dominance of the SEC Championship Game for years to come.

Both schools potentially have a great chance to continue making the CFP's. The pressure to expand the Playoffs is great in order to counter the SEC dominance.

King Alabama's greatest threat in the West? Texas A&M.

King Georgia's greatest threat in the East? Florida & Tennessee

I'd say for the next 3 years, both UGA & Bama will continue their dominance. After that, hmmmmm.

In the meantime, the Dawgs & Tide may become the hottest rivalry the country's seen in quite awhile. Goliath vs. Goliath. Titan vs. Titan.

Cool.

You can’t be the best rivalry if you don’t play every year

The media may act like it is but it isn't. This will be more like UF-Bama when Tebow was in Gainsville. Both Bama and UGA have actual established rivals.

Agreed. Bama has a tougher road to the SECCG than UGA, so no guarantee they will be there every year.

Generally I agree, but some of the best all-time rivalries are usually just power houses that only meet regularly because they're so good they keep matching-up in the post season.

A couple in the NFL would be Cowboys-49ers at one point and Brady-Manning.

I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that we see some more 'Bama-UGA matchups in the SECCG or playoffs.

No it won't.

Most of the posters here are a fan of an SEC team or have some weird SEC obsession if not a fan of one of the teams, so we'd probably care to a degree.

The rest of the country will not care much, so it will not become the nation's #1 rivalry.

When Bama and AU move to the SECE, UGA-Bama might become a rivalry.

The Georgia + Bama rivalry had to be called off back in the 60s once because it got out of hand.

Be fine with me to olay in season.

You should really be more humble.

Oklahoma, Miami, Texas, USC, and Auburn are all still waiting for their second national championship of the BCS/CFP era.

Hopefully Bama Saban tenure is close to the end
Win the title next year and maybe he goes out on top

Smart is in a really good spot especially when Saban moves on, will dominate recruiting
I still think Smart needs to continue to evolve offensively

No telling how the new SEC schedule will set up once OU and Texas join

One victory doesn't make it a rivalry. Even the Clemson vs Alabama isnt considered a rivalry. Might happen when Bama shifts to the East.
