LSU, a once proud baseball program, has been foundering for years. The first indication was Stony Brook

They couldn't get out of a regional in 2014

In 2016, they were swept out of the NCAA tourney by tiny Coastal Carolina

And they have struggled mightily this season. I understand Maneiri tanking to help his old school Notre Dame. But losing to Southeastern shows even their scheduling padding strategy of playing 300 games against in state schools won't help this program get on track.

During this time, other baseball programs have started to rise. Arkansas looks pretty good this year, and they were even preseason favorites to fill LSU void atop the SEC West by the Baton Rouge Advocate

Sure foolish ESPN know nothing commentators will continue to blather on about the purple and gold. But this year, these ignorant observations will be made from an Omaha press box wondering "what happened" instead of "which pitcher should I suck off first". But this behavior is to be expected from fools.

Those in the know, savvy SEC baseball fans, have already perceived that the torch has been passed. Just as when a large business fails, there is a period of jockeying for position among the upstarts. This season will be remembered as the beginning of a new era: the Arkansas Baseball Decade

You mean the team that won the CWS? How many times has Arkansas done that?

Stony Brook has been to the CWS in recent years. It’s not like LSU lost to a nobody.

That Stoney brook team had more talent than I’ve ever seen at Arkansas.

I do understand you hoping this since Coach O stomped Arkansas twice and Will Wade swept Arky in his first year with a bunch of scrubs.

I understand you wanting to discuss sports other than baseball. However this is a baseball thread. Please remain on topic. Thanks!

Haha...ok, well I agree, Stony Brook and Coastal Carolina have accomplishments to be proud of in their baseball history.

Yes we do know that this time every year we are blessed to read these delusional posts from hog fans, and then about mid April your team turns into baby shite. Your team has never won any hardware and never will.

So you want to talk about 2014 and 2016 but leave out 2017? I wonder why that is. LSU baseball isn't going anywhere

The same could be said for all LSU sports currently. I mean unless we talking women's gymnastics

LSU is 9 months removed from advancing to the CWS National Title game, something Arkansas has done 1 time in the entire history of their program - almost 30 years ago.

correct. They've been to the NCAAT 3 times the past 4 years and were the only non P5 school to receive an at-large bid last season. They've already beaten 3 ranked teams so far this season.

Yeah, it's tough when your expectations are Omaha or bust. I wouldn't know what it feels like to have different expectations. Maybe you could elaborate for me.

Well it's early, but I'd say 2018 LSU baseball is looking like the latter
