The time has come for Auburn to celebrate its history and claim more titles

As the very fabric of college football undergoes historic changes, it’s time for Auburn to change, too. It’s time to unapologetically celebrate every national championship that can be claimed. Nothing else really makes any sense. It is time to just do it, and if others ridicule it or don’t like it, so be it.
Auburn doesn’t need to make an announcement. It just needs to claim all the championships it can and treat them all with equal respect – in the stadium, in the media guide, wherever national championships are mentioned. Auburn lists some of those teams as national champions in its media guide, but it needs to go further than that.
Following are some of the championships Auburn could and should claim in more visible way than a line in the media guide. All have claims as legitimate as anyone else’s. And some say Auburn should claim others.
1910: 6-1, Coach Mike Donahue
1913: 8-0, Coach Mike Donahue
1914: 8-0-1, Coach Mike Donahue
1957: 10-0, Coach Shug Jordan
1983: 11-1, Coach Pat Dye
1993: 11-0, Coach Terry Bowden
2004; 13-0, Coach Tommy Tuberville

There’s no champion for 2004 so I say we need to claim it.

There's no need for Bama to claim anything. They win the college football playoff EVERY OTHER YEAR.

I'm good with the ones we recognize now.

ncaa.com shows auburn with titles in 2010 and a shared title in 1957.
2004- USC*
1993- FSU
1983- Miami
.ncaa.com/history/football/fbs
it also does not show 1934 as a title year for Alabama. I'm cool with that. It doesn't show 1941 either but I don't personally know an Alabama fan that does count that year. Granted, most folks aren't fan-atical enough about college football to even care about the history of it.
Actually, I think it makes more sense to start the count in 1936, the first year of the poll era. Makes even more sense, imo, to start the count in 1970, by which time all conferences were integrated.

And the NCAA record books show more than those two.

I provided a link to ncaa.com and it shows Auburn with 2.
Do you have a link to that you claim?

nothing on that page verifies that you claim
if you click enough links from that page, though, it will eventually take you to ncaa.com, which is that I already posted

No school I know of just “claims” a title based on a good record. A “claim” must be originated by an acknowledged poll or nationally respected outside source. If a title could just be “claimed, then Alabama would add 1945, 1949, 1966, 1977… just to mention a few.
Before the poll era, when The Rose Bowl began being played regularly in 1916, it was the widely acknowledged arbiter of the NC. Alabama won The Rose Bowl five times (six counting 2020). How many Rose Bowls has Auburn played in?
Auburn can “claim” anything those pot-raising farmers can dream up… but no one else will do anything but laugh at them. ,
PS I’m not fond of Alabama’s 1941 ranking… despite its pedigree…all the rest are legitimate by accepted national standards.

This is exactly what the fans of every other school do when Alabama claims all of its 18 or 20 or whatever number they are up to claiming is now.
