There are quite a few people on Vol Nation worried about NC St for some reason. I don't see it.

Neither do I. I see Cincy part 2 with Bray, Da'Rick, and Hunter playing a little backyard football.

The only thing that worries is me is the GA Dome. We are 0-6 in that building since the 98 SEC title game.

Absolutely we got rid of Fulmer bc of the same type of issues why settle for it now?

Because it shows real significant progress and would probably mean UT is headed in the right direction once more.

Actually you r probably right, it just kills me to think we can beat Florida then lose to state, but then again this is a guy who can't count I 11 or beat a pitiful UK team so I don't have much faith in DD, then again that's a mentality of the past bc that actually would be a sign of progress

It's because not many vol fans have faith in this coaching staff to win games that they most certainly should

They lost to Cincinnati 44-14 last year. No way you lose to them.

2. Recruiting. Obviously the state of Tenn is not loaded with talent so we use to make up for that by raiding states accross the country such as Georgia and South Carolina. Now a days, Georgia has done a much better job of keeping us out while USC is much more difficult to recruit against than they use to be.

This is an accurate assessment. Dooley said upon being hired, and I remember it well, that he had to recruit a 300 mile radius from campus. Conveniently, that includes Louisville, Atlanta, and Cincinnati. I also remember Manning saying while being interviewed during the LSU UTk game this year that Dooley had to start recruiting nationally. Good luck with that.

So, yes, its not going to be easy and may not happen.
As for your 15-20, that's random negativity. Its NEVER going to happen based on just local talent, so its going to take a great recruiter and of course, great coach, plain old.

If you guys feel like Dooley is not the answer, you need to act fast, because if UTk goes down hill far enough, no one is going to want to go there, from non-Tennessee locations, like Cincinnati and Louisville.

Not to be mean about it, but I think you need to leave the SEC.
Like you said, the SEC west is a handful now with three teams good enough to be ranked in the top ten to open 2012,
and the east is pretty good and one day soon Florida will be back on their game.

Florida, USCe, Georgia. Solid top 20 opposition.

C-USA is about right. You might even run the table and get to a BCS bowl that way.

My thoughts are, currently Tennessee is bad. The 2012 season is the same situation as the 2011 and 2010 seasons. Tennessee is a couple injuries from being a 5 win team. Derek Dooley is not the answer as head coach. The Vols can rebound eventually with the right leader pacing the sidelines. Tennessee will not beat Alabama anytime soon. The Vols should focus on beating Florida and South Carolina and being a consistent 8-9 win team. Don't think in terms of championships for a while for you will be massively disappointed.

I might be going out on a limb here, but I am pretty certain Tennessee is both established and satisfied with it's membership in the SEC.

While I agree to an extent, all it takes is a homerun hire. Not saying it will happen, but a lot can change in 3 or 4 years. You never know when the stars will align, just like it did with Saban to Alabama.

Completely hypothetical of course, but what if the Seattle Seahawks shite the bed and we get rid of Dooley next fall? I gurantee you we would throw the kitchen sink at Pete. Not saying it will happen at all, it's just things like this that can instantly change the outlook of a program.

Tennessee is a program capable of having a superstar coach fall in our lap.

You're still paying out the Lane Kiffin Karma. The way you guys stood behind that crook, you deserve what you are getting right now. In the long run TN will be fine and back to national prominence.

With a statement like that, the question is not whether you're fricking stupid, rather, it's HOW fricking stupid.

People should seriously get banned for ignorance. This site would be a much better place.

I get a kick out of the Fla. guys talking smack to the Vols......"cripple fight!!" . Seriously, as long a Muschamp is in Florida. The only thing he will be producing is foul language. Vols will come back one day, maybe not with Dooley. Until then...frick Tennessee

Don't piss on muschamp just yet. Wait and see this year first. Florida is an insanely epic hotbed for talent. And despite 2 other major in state powers, UF has been pretty consistently good for 20 years now. So give him a chance to prove himself.
