No they don't.

So if he wins 7 games, but UT is competitive, he will be back? Teams will have a field day negative recruiting UT with that result. You cannot really even call 7 wins a sizable progression. Looks like more mediocrity to me.
Yes he will be back. UT still isn't a complete team. We will have to outscore people this year. It won't hurt us bad in recruiting because Dooley can say the A.D knows the situation and saw the progress.

Sad that fans like you exist.

7 wins against this schedule and who Tennessee has returning would indicate that Tennessee has an awful, awful coach.
He would definitely have to lose games he wasn't supposed to, but defense is worrisome. UT can't afford big time injuries.

Its definitely the other way around. Fans like you are so impatient and think football is like a video game where freshmen can come in and dominate right away. It doesn't work that way.

I am talking about you just repeating the company line over and over.
Dooley's countless excuses and bashing of his own players work wonders on people like you as you have bought them hook, line and sinker.

Muschamp inherited a team that was down a full class scholarship wise last year, and if he doesn't win at least 8 games this coming year. He will start his 3rd year on the hot seat. I don't think giving Dooley the benefit of the doubt all the time is a good thing.

Meyer still brought on blue chip players though, thats the difference. UF was young, but its not like Meyer brought in scrubs. UF was also strong in the trenches, which always helps. Plus its easier for UF to rebuild because of the instate talent.
Fulmer and Kiffin's recruiting was god awful here.

What company line? Its the truth. Players develop at different paces and UT has had to play players when they weren't ready. Using your logic, any team who has the number 1 recruiting class should win the NC with just those freshmen. Thats not the case at all. Only about 8 players played when Saban signed the number 1 class before he won the NC. It takes time.

It's not a good thing, and despite what some people think, his seat is absolutely scorching. The only reason he's still here is because you can't fire a guy after two years. If Dooley doesn't give Hart and the big donors a real reason to believe he's going to be a winner, he's going to be fired. 7 and he's out. I don't believe for a minute that 8 is the lock some people think it is. It's very obvious why all the coaches have been trying to leave this year. It's because they know they are probably getting fired next year if they don't.

He's actually defending the Sullins' twins. In all seriousness, anyone trying to say the 2009 team was good (at least by Tennessee standards) is lying, misinformed, or stupid.

Being down 25 players is ridiculously difficult, no matter where you're located. Yes, there was blue chip players, but there was also zero depth on the lines of scrimmage.

If the seat was scorching, then he would have to make it to the SEC championship. When has 8 wins ever been great at UT?
Job security was the reason for some, but it was just a matter of time before Wilcox and Sirmon left. They wanted in the PAC 12. Hart wouldn't give Russel a multiyear contract. Joseph and Heidstand left because of security, but I think Heidstand would have been gone even if he wanted to stay.

For UT to win, they need a top notch recruiter. The state of Tenn recruits is shite.

8 wins is never great. Who said that? If he survives with 8 wins, it's only because it will look bad to fire a coach who just took a team from 5 wins to 8 in his second year.

Yeah, everyone just left because of some random coincidence.

I know it is, im not trying to say it wasn't, but I would rather have those blue chip starters instead of freshmen or walkons in the trenches. I know UF fans dogged Brantley, but he still understood the game a lot better than a freshmen did. You saw how UF played when they had to start Brissett or Driskell

At a big school like UT it isn't. Hart would have just gotten rid of Dooley after this year if he didn't believe in him instead of hiring all those new assistants to two year deals.

Im not saying that. Job security was an issue, but Wilcox had a no buyout clause. Did you honestly think he would stay here long?

The two year deals are nothing more than a way to make the coaches and recruits feel marginally better about coming here.

That team was more talented than Auburn, Ole Miss, and UCLA. They were even favored in those games. Just because Fulmer had a bad season with them doesn't mean they sucked. UT was great on defense in 08, the offense was just god awful from the clawfence.
