With these other conferences canceling, the SEC will have their pick of the best that want to play. I can’t imagine those teams picked to play with the SEC this season are going to want to return to their respective conferences, especially if/when they get a taste of that TV money.

HOT TAKE: These conferences are unwittingly bending the knee to the SEC, and we will see the creation of the first super conference.

They will not. Sankey knows whats up, he basically confirmed this morning that they will cancel as well. B1G did not do this in a vacuum. They know they others are folding as well. They just wanted to be the first.

I think the question will be CAN these teams opt-in to an SEC schedule? How does their current contracts with their own conferences come into play? Similarly, how do current rules effect players wanting to transfer to schools that are still playing? There’s a lot of unknown there.

The SEC has been about as "toe the company line in a cryptic way" as possible. I don't know how you figure that he "confirmed" it.

The one thing the SEC has said all along is that it's a package deal. Meaning, if the ACC and/or Big XII plays along, they will move forward. If it's just the SEC left standing, they will cave.

This is not cryptic in any way. He says they will not go it alone. If you read between the lines, its over.

From the Article
Sankey said in an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” Tuesday that it’s unlikely the SEC would play a season on its own should the other Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conferences cancel the fall season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

I think the ACC cancels next. You’ve got a number of schools with colleges of medicine plus Miami being a Coronavirus hot spot. Their medical advisors are going to recommend suspending fall sports.

The B12 and SEC will be the last to concede.

Stanky is weak. Slive would take advantage of being the only show in town to further strengthen the brand.

Slive was a leader. Stanky is a follower.

the Big 12, SEC and ACC could feast on tv revenue and recruiting with all eyes of the nation on every game they play and every game would be on a network...the ratings would be through the roof and from here on out the could approach every recruit saying, "we played, we listened to our players who wanted to play, the PAC and Big 10 ignored theirs, couldn't even give them 24 hours of consideration...

Don't try "finna". You do not have the ability to pull it off.

Good lord. Are people really still saying that? It was cringeworthy the first thousand times...

IF the SEC has a season, I wouldn’t allow our teams to play Big 10 and PAC 10 teams. Let’s let those teams suffer and then poach all of their recruits.
