has never been on display more than this week...the main reason, I believe, is because most of these fan bases are very secure and they have enough class to support their brethren and congratulate them on a job well done. It is as simple as that. When we tangle with each other again in a couple of months the nastiness will return, so don't worry. SEC baby!

Baseball has always been a different breed. It's the one sport of the three that any team can win any day.

I'd say it is also the fact that it's baseball. The baseball fanbases seem much more tightknit than the football ones.

Do have to say the SEC fan bases who supported y'all the most were the ones who have also won before and hence,as you mentioned, secure enough to do so. The others seemed mostly salty and bitter with some exceptions thrown in.

And the sport is still purely amateur. It's a level playing field.

Yeah this. The fanbases that hadnt (excluding Arkansas) were mostly talking about how their season was better because they had a better regular season, or how they didnt care about baseball.

College baseball really is distinct from football and basketball. The VERY best players get syphoned into the MLB farm system and do NOT play college ball. The result IMO is greater parity among college teams with players that (mostly) are not MLB-caliber, as compared to football and basketball.

There's less cheating in the minor sports compared to football and basketball. Also the best prospects often go directly to professional baseball out of high school.

It should be the same way with football and basketball.

Agreed, contrats to the Rebs and welcome to the club.

Now, it's time for the OG powerhouse to take the crown back!

Happy for Ole Miss. Good for the school, the fans, and the alumni.

Caught fire at the right time.
