I don't think the discrepancy is that big between the divisions. Alabama obviously changes the dynamic, the West is usually a little better. Some of our more traditional top teams like UF and UT are down.
I still think aTm, Auburn or Arky would've had the same record this year had they played in the East.

For the 100th time there’s not going to be an east and west anymore

Go back 5 years, then 10 years. Two of the better historical programs in the East have suffered some of their lowest points in the last 30 years. It has allowed UK to improve its program, but that is just another sign of the issue. Since the start of the CFP, teams that have been in the TOP 4 in the CFP Polls at some point:
West:
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
MSU
Ole Miss
A&M was as high as 5th in the Poll
East:
UGA

I don't think mid season rankings are a good measuring stick for the strength of the West. They change alot at the end of the year.
The West is better but I don't think that means the East is ACC level, or that we're that far behind the west. I honestly think UK would've went undefeated/ 1 loss in the ACC this year. We weren't the best team in the East.
I think its not even going to matter soon with however they end up breaking the conference up.

Since 2014 Ole Miss has a better record vs Bama than does L2U

Not mid season . It changed because the SECW schedule causes teams to eliminate each other. Teams that have finished first or second in the SEC Divisions with at least 10 wins last 5 years.
West:
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
A&M
Ole Miss
East:
UGA
UF
UK

Let him coach a game first. We really don’t know if he’s any better than Mullen.

Playing them in the SEC champ game isn't the same as having to play them every year on the schedule. And Tenn has sucked for 13 years. Having to play tougher teams could prevent you from getting to ATL.
The OP edited his post. He originally mentioned a "resurgent Tennessee and Florida".
We do play them in the regular season some times. But the only wins they have are in the post season since 2008. That's because we do not play them when they are bad most of the time, but we do play them when they are good.
That's the beauty of the SECCG and why it was good in the poll/BCS era. It works in both directions and gives the SEC Champion a boost in SoS and quality wins.

Bull shite . East is the easiest division in all the P5 conferences.
————————————————————
Well I suppose Auburn could be a member of the honorary East. Another team UGA plays (and beats) every year.

So you're saying the west is EASIER than the East? Hmm... hot take.

How did you summize that? We play in the west and play UF every year. Don't get me wrong it's my favorite rivalry for LSU but don't act like playing Tenn is on the same level.

Horse shite outside of Spurrier and Meyer era Florida teams, Florida has not been a juggernaut.

Actually I think what you’re saying is LSU wants no part of Bama and you’re concerned that Alabama is the path your team will still have to take.

Only in recent years. You bitch about playing Florida but they really haven't been much since Saban ran Meyer out of the conference. Historically, Tennessee has been the better program. Even when they were at their beat you didn't hear Alabama fans whining about playing UT the way LSU whines about playing Florida. People just like to cry muh BAMA because they can't beat BAMA. Sorry BAMA can't play themselves.
