But I’ll always try to visit Chris’s whenever I’m passing through.

That and the fact that you allowed Democrats to control the state legislature for 100 years, ruining the state...

Those “Dixiecrats” who controlled the state for 100 years still do. They just call themselves Republicans now after switching parties. Same people…same uselessness……different name

What happened to you in Birmingham?

Birmingham is far, far better than it used to be. You just have to know which parts of the city to stay away from.
Montgomery should just be avoided entirely.

Not a fan of politics, lawyers, and a-hole rednecks who try to ruin their state.
Same reasons I avoid Jackson, MS.

Cool story. So did they switch parties in 2011 when repubs finally took control of the state after 130+ years?

I’m surprised how few people understand the old New Deal Democrat coalition between conservative Southern democrats, Northeastern seaboard liberals, and late 19th/early 20th century labor progressive movement in the Midwest.
William F Buckley and others finding a way to marry liberal capitalism and social small-c conservatism was the game changer that broke that coalition and swung the South towards the GOP.
