Maybe in your state.

Alabama has plenty of successful buisnesses owned and operated by UA alumni that will look favorably on a former Alabama player. They won't hurt for employment opportunities in this state. It "should" be the same way in Louisiana, is it not?

Of course it is. When Landon Collins came to Alabama, I can't tell you how many threads I saw with people saying..."good luck with him getting a job here when he doesn't cut it at Bama. He's no longer from Louisiana."

I would hope walking into an interview with one NC ring doesn't automatically get someone a job. That sounds fricktarded. I personally know someone who has a LSU 2007 national championship ring but didn't contribute for shite on the team.

I am sure that all things being equal (personality, work ethic, etc.) someone would get a second glance having played for the 2003 or 2007 teams than a random guy who did the same for Curley, or a guy who was just average that hadn't played for LSU.

But I'd be surprised if anyone from either state hired someone JUST because of the ring. That's silly.

Yeah, that's the part I was addressing. I agree with your first statement.

I don't disagree but it isn't because the degree on their wall which was the point of my post. Same person with the same degree from JSU or UAB never even gets interviewed. Being a member of the team is what gets them the job.
