teams out of conference. Basically, its very high risk with little reward.

OSU and the B10 figured this out and its worked ….SEC will follow suit.

To be clear, this is bad for CFB. ...if anyone cares.

Did anyone else notice that they used the ACC's 5-5 record against against P5 OOC opponents this year to talk about how Clemson doesn't play anyone good...but turned a blind eye to the Big 10 having that same 5-5 record against P5 OOC opponents?

Good thing LSU went ahead and started that out this year.... zero great OOC opponents.

you are what is wrong with the world...ignorant, cant read and self serving.

at TX is a good matchup any year, but Cincy at home is considered better.

Texas is the same type of matchup Bama had when they opened with number 8 Michigan a few years ago. It looks great on paper but they’re still terrible. They just fired their entire coaching staff except Herman. Not that it matters but the answer to this is drop to a ten game regular season. We play 9 conference games with one OOC power five opponent. Now you will play all of your teams in your conference. Rivalries stay intact and no more ULM, Citadel, western Carolina or the myriad of other crap opponents we have to endure as fans. Every conf champ gets repped and we go to a 16 team playoff just like FCS.

When LSU scheduled Texas they thought they would carry more weight than "hey, they went to a bowl."

I'm far from being an OSU fan but they, along with the rest of the Big 10, plays 9 conference games so they already play an extra Power 5 team compared to the SEC. And last year, OSU played two Power 5 OOC teams for an 11 Power 5 schedule (and they still didn't fare well with the committee due to the Purdue loss). While it's a credit to LSU for scheduling a team like Texas, the Horns ended up being pretty bad so that's not helpin' 'em much at all (similar to when Bama opened up with #3 FSU in '17). While not a Power 5 team, Cincinnati is giving the Buckeyes much more of a boost than Texas is giving LSU...

I agree, but in the real world would you rather play @ TX or cincy at home tomorrow?

Id take cincy (and trade for OSUs schedule) in a heartbeat.

along with: bama, FL, Auburn...and Georgia

vs

Indy, WI, MI, Penn st

its ok, OSU scheduled Florida Atlantic, Miami (of OHIO) and Cincy ...at home

OSU's schedule is as weak as their knowledge of the game.

Without a doubt, I'd rather play Texas all day, every day...but the way this season's played out, in the eyes of the committee, Cincy is a boon to SOS while Texas has now become a drain...

OSU has played a good schedule; OSU's and LSU's SOS of schedule is very similar; Sagarin has LSU at #25 and OSU at #29 whereas Congrove has OSU's at 15 and LSU's at 20.

Both teams have a good argument for #1; if both win out, I think OSU will hold at #1 as SOS will be seen as a wash and OSU ranks higher in the efficiency rankings that the committee appears to value.

They don't care that OSU didn't schedule a P5 OOC game either.

good idea, Im looking in the mirror now...Thanks.

If someone thinks the 2 schedules are even comparable I have nothing for them. Unless, of course, you only watch your team ...then it makes some sense - just ignorance.

3 of 3 OOC opponents for OSU won their division in their conference... total record was 26-10

LSUs 4 OOC opponents finished 24-24 and none of them finished higher than second in their division, and one of them was NWST finished 9th in the Southland conf (FCS).

Gimme a break.
