The opposite actually. Leach is making players walk the plank.

Just a day after three players entered the transfer portal for Mississippi State, the Bulldogs have three more that are on their way out in the middle of the season.
A source told Genespage247 that junior wide receiver Tyrell Shavers, junior defensive end Tre Lawson and freshman defensive end Jamari Stewart are all leaving the program. That marks seven players that have left the program since last week joining sophomore quarterback Garrett Shrader from last week and sophomore QB Jalen Mayden, freshman offensive lineman Nick Pendley and senior running back Kareem Walker.

Dumb post. We knew several QB’s would likely be transferring long before they finally put in the portal. The other guys never panned out and were bench warmers. The sky is falling only in your head.

Shavers has just transferred from Alabama to Miss State in the summer.

Long enough to score a TD on "DBU"

I mean, it's not like these guys were going to lift us to any additional wins. We hired Leach to build his program. Looks like he's doing just that. He gets 3 years. I'd much rather see this in year 1 than next year.

QB Jalen Mayden :
"Over his three years at Mississippi State, Mayden went 1-for-2 for 9 yards and had seven rushes for 32 yards, all of which came during three games in 2018."

You are assuming he had control to begin with.

It's not real easy to convince a bunch of kids you didn't recruit to suddenly buy into a scheme they didn't commit to play in. Success in the Air Raid is built solely on having everyone buy into the philosophy. We have way too many "me" guys on our team right now. Cut the fat now, and you'll be much better off in the long run. Especially given the fact that he will get at least 3 years at a minimum. State can't afford to fire back to back coaches only after two years.

Not really the worst thing since EVERYONE gets an extra year. Will be plenty of quality players in the portal this year. Probably the best year to restock on talent that has ever or will ever exist.
