...will be a play off contender every year. I understand the political reasons why they can’t start him at Auburn. Too bad, that guy is exactly what Gus needs to win in his system. The fact that Gatewood doesn’t start shows how dysfunctional the situation is at Auburn.

Is there some law that won't get passed in West Georgia if Gatewood doesn't start?

The truth is I’ve had a lot to drink this morning. But I got 2 degrees from Auburn....so I’ll say what I damn well please. Also, is there a sonic in college station? Because I will be there.

You base this observation on what? Some mop up duty in games Auburn is winning by a large margin?

Dangit I spent a minute trying to come up with something like that, #himtoo or something about being a socialist— the smart arse section of my brain is not fully awake yet.

Think he means that the good ole boys wanted their beloved hero’s legacy to start because his last name is Nix. Maybe he thinks Patrick will vouch for him when people are trying to fire him, after another 8-5 season.

Ahh, the good old fashioned nepotism argument. Regardless, dude looked good in the opener (that’s all I’ve seen y’all play) especially for a young en.

Bottom line is Gatewood would be unstoppable in spread option. We’ve seen him throw one pass but honestly, you don’t need to be a real QB in a spread option, not when you’re as talented as Gatewood. When everyone is in the box trying to stop the run, receivers will be wide open. Auburn can win all their games throwing a maximum of 10 passes a game....if Gatewood starts. If Nix starts they’ll get throttled by A&M, the run will be bottled up and Auburn’s receivers will drop as many as they catch. Also, Auburn’s OL is amazingly bad for a power 5 school, they’ll get stuffed with Nix at QB.

He looked good on the final drive (which obviously won them the game and is the most important thing), but he kinda looked like arse otherwise.
