According to multiple sources who independently verified details of the proceedings as well as documents obtained by SB Nation, Lewis provided new information at the COI hearing that he had not divulged in three previous interviews with NCAA enforcement. This included information about a cash payment Lewis said he received, not from Ole Miss, but from the father of a Mississippi State teammate before National Signing Day 2015.

According to these sources, Lewis also said that former Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen — who is now the head coach at the University of Florida — met with him to discuss his recruitment by both Ole Miss and Mississippi State months in advance of the enforcement staff’s official start of their investigation into Lewis’s recruitment.

Friday’s decision will put an end to months of waiting not only by Ole Miss, who will learn what punishment the NCAA will hand down, but other schools around the SEC, who have held up their own recruiting in the event that a strong punishment from the NCAA would free up Ole Miss players to transfer.

Another day, another thread by an Ole Miss fan trying to tell us that it's not them but Mississippi State who's in trouble.

100% fabricated bullshite

No person who was in those hearings has spoken to Stephen Godfrey and SB Nation has not seen any documents from those proceedings.

The last, desperate throes of a delusional douche bag, who has lied and made up stories the entire length of the investigation

You honestly think he's making this up? That he's risking his career for this? And he is the delusional one. What in what he wrote do you believe is so unbelievable?

I absolutely do not believe that anyone who has any knowledge of the COI proceedings has divulged info to S.Godfrey or SB Nation. Not in any way .

From the article....

quote:

like, okay. Dan Mullen was basically going to try and make it seem like [they] did nothing, but they were going to try and - like whatever, they was going to try and bounce it off to other people or other things, like other schools or whatever. So like that’s kind of the sense that I got from it. You know, just like he was - he was saying like - the way that he was saying like everything, it was basically like how - whatever - he was - like Coach Mullen was going to say whatever he needed to say to get them off of Leo. So it was just like whatever he - whatever - he basically asked Leo, like whatever I need to say to protect you, then let’s let that be known now, so when that time comes, you know.

Seems legit

On August 16, attorneys representing Ole Miss wrote a letter addressed to COI chairman Greg Christopher, AD for Xavier University, which requested access to a separate NCAA investigation into Mississippi State. The letter, which was obtained by SB Nation, alleges that NCAA enforcement confirmed to Ole Miss that they had “quickly opened and subsequently closed” the investigation because Lewis’s statements about receiving money from Mississippi State were deemed to be “ultimately... not sufficiently credible to support an allegation.”

The claim is directly at odds with enforcement seemingly doubling down on their belief that Lewis’ statements about receiving benefits from Ole Miss were credible. As recently as the enforcement staff’s July 21 response to the COI, the NCAA has stood by Lewis as credible. “Lewis consistently provided credible and reliable information during the investigation,” enforcement wrote on July 21.

MSU was so worried about Leo's potential eligibility problems that they didn't play him this year. ****

Good try Ole Miss, only one more day.

The fact that you guys still believe anything at all from Ole Miss people is beyond my comprehension. You have been lied to from the very beginning and yet even after you have saw that you were misled you still are gullible enough to believe their bullshite. It is like you didn't read the ncaa response to the Ole Miss response to the second noa. I actually feel pity for you foolish rebel fans because tomorrow morning your football program is going to be brought to it's knees and rightfully so.
