Which football programs of the last decade have been the most overrated? To answer this question, I took an objective approach by comparing the preseason AP Top 25 to the end of season poll after the bowl games, for every year since 2006. (all info from LINK /.)

3 SEC teams.

Since OP blows, here are the cliffs:

Big Lead article says "last decade" but bases its criticisms on the last 5 years

Florida--won 2 titles the past decade but bottomed out under mush champ, even though he got a sugar bowl birth and McElwain won the East last year

LSU--2 title game appearances, 1 win, 2 conference titles fhe past decade. Last 4 years won 10, 10, 8, 9 (with a cancelled rent-a-win) games.

Georgia--always a good team with talent, could never get over the hump and win a title.

tl;dr

Big lead says that despite out performing 99% of CFB programs the past decade, the inability to play on Alabama or Ohio State's level in the last 4-5 years makes you overrated.

You missed the point. You guys were overrated because you had an average season even though you were "rated very high to start the year". Just look at this year, LSU is thought to have a top 5 team by many yet you probably will only win 9 or 10 games with no championship. That is overrated bro.

Yes, in a literal sense the teams listed were overrated, but it's hard to call teams that have won national championships in the last 10 years overrated.

LSU
UGA
OU
USC

All perennial top 10 teams yet they are overrated because they haven't won a title every year....

it's not that ust georgia is overrated. they get their hopes up and get massivyl embarrassed almost every time. last year versus bama lol. remember the infamous black out game. it was something like 23 to 0 at half time.

they don't just lose they get the breaks beat off them

Overrated because what happened last year has happened too often. Preseason champs, top five team early then out of or barely in the top 25 finishing a disappointing season by playing in a shity Texas bowl. There is a reason you poors have your coach on the hotseat.

Don't act like you guys don't underachieve relative to your talent level and money you pay Les and his staff. Truth hurts.

I'm usually spot on with LSU predictions. Glass half empty type. Only game that is not lock this year is Arkansas. Sorry bruh. I said it, it shall be done.

Good writers can do wonders with numbers, can't they. LSU averaged better than 10 wins per season during that decade. Got a feeling that average is about to go up.

So now winning 10 games = overrated??

Good lord! Of course winning championships is the goal every year , but I can't agree that a 10 win team equals overrated.
