If Bert did indeed skip out on the grinding work schedule of a successful SEC coach, then, that is a damn shame. That's a DEEP character flaw - being Lazy. If that was indeed the case, that's just not fair to any SEC fan base. If Bert decided that the job was too much work for him, the honorable thing would have been to tell the AD and resign from the job, rather than just be Lazy and keep collecting the pay-check.

You know, I've been thinking that Kelly was a good hire, but I hadn't thought about that yet. It is an interesting point. There are enough similarities to make you wonder.

Bert was the reason Sam left because he was hurting Sam's reputation in recruiting. Bert was found passed out on his desk. He used to go binge drinking at the Eastside grill in Fayetteville.

Arkansas and A&M aren't on our level. Period. It doesn't matter who the coach is. All of them would do better at LSU.
We had our worst team in two decades in each of the past two seasons. Our record over that time is 2-2 against A&M/Arky. Hell Arkansas had to pull out an over time win by a FG.

This is really sad. Hog fans didn't deserve to get hoodwinked by an alcoholic. Bert stole money from ya'll.
I hope he got some help for his alcoholism. THAT is what happened to Bert's tenure - alcoholism. That's why he failed.

Apparently Bert was really hungry when he got to Fayetteville. He was fat when he left.
